Posting my thoughts would probably get me locked away somewhere. I do occasionally post things that happen, and goals, and comments. And I would dare say a good 38.2% of that is actually safe for work!

I am also a runner. I mean, if you see me from a long way off, at night, while squinting, it really does look like I'm running.

Many times the calories you 'earn' exercising are overstated, so if you eat them all back you'll probably not be doing yourself any favors. It also hurts when many people don't log the correct amount of calories for the food they've consumed. Whether because they don't measure the portion properly or the food is listed…

I love 5k races! So much fun! Anyone can feel free to add me if they like. I've been on here for two years now, pretty much met the goals I wanted to. Trying to stay in maintenance mode right now. Best of luck to all!

Keep in mind that the number on the scale only represents how gravity is affecting you AT THAT PARTICULAR moment. It's not who you are. I lost two inches off my waist before I lost a single pound. Scales can be deceiving. Except food scales, everyone needs one of those (they work way better than people scales).

Feel free to add me. While I am now in a maintenance mode, I am more than happy to give swift kicks in the rear/hold accountable those that need it.

Add away

If you watch me from far away, at night, while squinting, you could almost call what I do 'running'. Feel free to add me if you wish.

I weigh my food much more often than I weigh myself. I have always enjoyed great results on the people scale the more I use the food scale.
-
It depends on what you are trying to do. For some (keto diet, atkins, etc) the focus is more on the macros versus the plain calorie count. For most, it's easier to focus on the overall calorie count first, then work on specific macros as you grow accustomed to eating at a reduced caloric intake.

Suggestions: Buy a food scale. Your results using that will be much better than using a people scale. Accept the fact that this is a lifetime journey, and does not end when you hit the magical '150' number you are shooting for. You will have good days. You will have bad days. You will gro frustrated and want to quit. Keep…

DISCLAIMER: Add me at your own risk. Kidding, I'm harmless. Mostly.

Tomorrow sounds like an awful long way away. Take it slow, buy a food scale (you get WAY better results with a food scale than you do with just a people scale). Understanding you'll have setbacks. Everybody does. Understand you will get frustrated. You will want to quit. It will seem at times that NOTHING is happening. You…

feel free to add me if you want. I am not much of a friend, but occasionally I'm funny. Kinda like a "everyone point and laugh" kinda way.
-
How come people always want "good friends"? Why can't someone just once say "You know, I want a really crappy friend. Some arrogant, self centered bastage would be great!" I'd fit that bill perfectly, but noooo, only 'good' friends need apply.

East Virginia, NOT that fake west one.

I have a food scale sitting on my desk. I am asked quite often at work about my weight loss. What did I do? How hard was it? etc. My response has usually been "I weigh my food way more often than I weigh myself" Some people react poorly to this. "That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. There has to be more than that." Well,…

Everybody has that issue. The thing about weight/scales you have to remember is this: What you see on a scale is simply a reflection of how gravity is affecting you AT THAT particular moment. A lot of things can affect this, like too much water, or salt, or it's Wednesday, or you are standing on an undiscovered magnetic…

I have no toenails on my right foot.

I miss Italy. (4 years in Vicenza, 4 at San Vito dei Normanni) Instead I am in Virginia, but I work in DC

This is going to take time. A. LOT. Of. Time. You will get frustrated. You will want to quit. You will feel depressed from time to time. Some of those times will even been on the weeks when you make progress. Here's the thing: DO NOT QUIT!!!! The sweat, the pain, the tears, all of it will be worth it, and sometimes it will…

Best of luck to you. To be honest though, you can save yourself a lot of heartache by saying "From now on, progress!" rather than the healthy meals/exercise. Too many people fall into the trap of thinking they will only eat health and exercise very often, then feel guilty if/when they don't. That guilt usually leads to…

I've posted this before but it's solid advice and always worth repeating: This is going to take time. A. LOT. Of. Time. You will get frustrated. You will want to quit. You will feel depressed from time to time. Some of those times will even been on the weeks when you make progress. Here's the thing: DO NOT QUIT!!!! The…

Kylie - I had reflux for years to the point where I often slept sitting up in a chair because lying down was to painful. Haven not had reflux in the past year+ since losing some weight. Best of luck to you!

Hated the way I looked in a bikini.

Being accountable is easy. It's being honest that's the hard part. Nobody wants to log that half bag of potato chips they just ate.

Don't add me. I'm a horrible friend. Just ask everyone I know. Good luck to you all though!
