Sometimes it's hard to take an honest look at ourselves and identify the things which have been hampering us our whole lives. Sometimes, it only takes that one moment to change everything. Just remember the path you are on now is a LIFELONG journey. It's doesn't end when a magical, arbitrary number shows up on the scale.…

Welcome, it's always tough starting out. Motivation is not an easy thing to have, nor does it just magically appear. I run (a lot), but can promise you the vast majority of my runs end with me cursing and really pushing myself to the end. JUST DOnt quIT. I give this advice to everyone starting out: buy a food scale. Weigh…

I've seen Phoenix on a map, does that count? In all seriousness I was stationed at Luke AFB for 4 years back in the early 90's but left before I completely melted. Much respect to anyone who does anything outdoors in the Phoenix area, y'all are completely insane.

Feel free to add me if you want. A little from me: I was 262 lbs at my heaviest and managed to get down to 183 lbs. Unfortunately a vehicle accident and subsequent knee surgeries left me inactive for a long period an I went back up to 225. I am currently hovering at around 200 lbs looking to lose another 5-10. With any…

Since the beginning of the year I've been challenging myself to the specific things: Rosary, every day: ✅ Log my meals: ❌ Exercise 4 days/week minimum: ✅ Now I just need to work on that second one

I'm still here, just don't post much. Might try to post a little more often though. Looking forward to Lent and hopefully a bit more time to pray daily.

Can I ask a dumb question: why is the goal to reach a certain body weight? I get that it's kind of the mindset we all have (I myself would like to lose about 9 more pounds give or take), but weight is such a poor indicator as so many things can affect it day in and day out. Look at quiksylver296's bio: she lists herself at…

Not gonna sugar coat things since, you know, sugar is bad. Congrats on running the 1 mile, regardless of the time you did it in. It really is a great thing that you are able to do it at all, be proud of that! It doesn't matter what you used to do, that isn't important any longer. Right now it's about what you can do today,…

Not where I want to be yet, but I can get into my kilt and look pretty okay in it.

If you squint, and look from really far away, you might be able to call what I do running. I'll send some friend requests, but feel free to add me if you want.

This is a journey about Progress. Not Perfection. You will have good days. You will have bad days. You will want to give up, far more often than you believe possible. You will bust your rump for a week straight and will stare in horror as the scale says you put on 2 pounds. Just remember the scale only tells you how much…

I am 49 and only recently began to run seriously (within the past 4-5 years), mostly to lose weight. Never really had a goal or long racing in mind, but eventually entered a 5k, then another, then another eventually taking first place in my age group (small field of runners though). Entered my first 10k after that and once…

I know the weight ups and downs all too well. Been on here a while myself, lost over 80 lbs. Unfortunately an injury and subsequent inactivity has added some of that back on. Now looking for the last 10-15 lbs. to reach a comfortable weight. Feel free to add me if you'd like.

Work in DC, live in Virginia. Lost over 85lbs before an injury/inactivity added a bit back. Working now on losing another 10lbs or so to get where I'll be comfortable enough for next years bikini season.

I am around 207lbs. right now, and have done 290lbs squats. I was more excited about doing 3 sets of 7 dips for the first time in forever (without a negative weight) last week. Feel free to add me if you want.

I generally work out very early in the mornings (~4-5am) and I usually split 3 days of running with 3 days of weights. It's great to hit that 10,000 step goal before 6am.

Sent a friend request. I love running, except when it's hot. Or cold. Or when I'm actually doing it. But other than that I love it. Will be running a 10K next month and hoping for a half marathon next year.

You and me both DC, guess we'll be having to leave this group and find the 50 and Fit group before too much longer. Until then anyone I'm not currently friends with feel free to add me. For those I am friends with, you all deserve medals for putting up with me this long!

Welcome all those starting/restarting. The biggest advice I have to give you is: Be honest. Log your foods, even the stuff that embarrasses you (I once ate 2000+ calories of Twizzlers). I know a large number of people who quit MFP because they weren't losing the weight they thought they should be, even though they weren't…
