My wedding rings fit!! My rings stopped fitting a little less than 3 years ago when I was pregnant. Last Friday, my "stand in" ring broke because the band is thin and soft. I was annoyed and decided not to even bother getting it fixed since this was the second time. Instead I went hunting through my jewelry box to see if I had any old rings that would fit. For the heck of it, I also tried on my wedding rings with no expectation of getting them on. But I did! All the way. They are still uncomfortably snug, so I'm not actually wearing them again but just knowing they fit and I'm only a few pounds away from wearing them is so motivating.
I always love these ones! Yay for wedding rings fitting again!!!10 -
Today I noticed that there was space in my bra where boobage used to be! I'll take it!20

I have a couple this week!
- I look decidedly smaller in photos and in the camera when on a web conference
- I wore a size 48 (18?) shirt that a couple of months ago was a handswidth from doing up
- I gave a speech at a large fair, and it went well. I always feel like I will die from nerves beforehand and this was the biggest stage (150 seats) and largest external audience I’ve ever had.
I also made it a goal to be kinder to myself. I went to the dentist last week (haven’t been in 2 years) and in the process of talking to me about dental care she said “you deserve nice teeth” and I thought “she is so right, I do”. So there are a couple of wins related to this also:
- I bought myself flowers for the first time ever
- I bought myself an electric toothbrush and prioritised time and money for a professional teeth cleaning (so glad I did, those pearly whites are now also distracting me in web conferences!)
I’m excited to report back with more kind-to-myself wins in the future!26 -
Ran an entire 5k. Less than 9 minute miles. According to Nike app, it’s my fastest one ever. Also had my fastest 1k and 1mile times.
Number 4 in my age group by 10 seconds. If only I had started my kick a little sooner.22 -
My parkrun time this morning was soo slooow.
But there were mitigating circumstances as the course was a bit of grass, lots of mud and tons of water - reminiscent of Shrek's swamp. It was like wading through treacle and was really very difficult to run safely anywhere on it, especially once it started raining again (it absolutely hammered it down, DS and I were soaked through to the skin in minutes) and people were sliding, slipping and falling over. It was truly a nightmare.
But you have to take what you can get and it was the only parkrun available to us as most of the runs within a 50-mile radius had been cancelled due to flooding, winds, etc.
I consoled myself in the only way possible - that I was still faster than everyone who didn't make it out of the house this morning23 -

In the process of looking for a house I went up and down stairs and didn't lose my breath or have my back and feet complaining. If I feel this much better with fifteen pounds off, what will the next 85 do for me?!24

Went to the cinema and didn't get popcorn.
Been having a few really downish blueish blehish days, but I am not allowing myself to just use food to feel the void.25 -
I enjoy doing burbees!10

I find that being in the last 10 lbs before the doctor's ideal weight for me in my weightloss journey, I ENJOY shopping for clothes! I avoided clothes shopping when I was obese and only went when necessary. Just found 3 cute finds at a thrift store in a ritzy neighborhood!11

Well, yesterday I didn't do my workout as planned. But instead I went on a Hash that had some pretty intense hills and was over 3.5 mi (about 6k). I felt like it was okay to skip my workout.
Also, I have been adding shredded carrots to different things - tacos, wraps, oatmeal. I know the oatmeal one is weird but I don't taste the carrots and I figure it gives me a little extra fiber and nutrition. Now if only I could figure out how to hide all the vegetables...17 -
Made it to the gym last night even when I really wasn't feeling it, and didn't go back for seconds on dinner - which has been one of my major goals recently!18

What an NSV I have!
Yesterday my hubby and I were in a crowded store, filled with all kinds of people, including a lot of college kids. As we were getting ready to leave, I was behind my husband and he was looking for me. He walked out the door to look for me (he said he couldn't find me in the store and thought I went outside), then came back and looked at me with wonder and absolute amazement and hugged me TIGHT, something wonderful.
When we got in the car, my hubby told me he was looking for me and as he was looking, he saw this super gorgeous YOUNG woman, and quickly turned away, because he didn't want to stare at a beautiful woman (he's a wonderful handsome best friend husband). He said when he glanced at this woman, she was super beautiful and sharp looking and he thought she was a "classy-YOUNG" college girl or something. He said, when he came back in the store to find me, only to discover I WAS THAT GORGEOUS YOUNG WOMAN he glanced at...that's why he hugged me the way he did in the store. He said he honestly didn't know it was me for some reason, when he first turned around and saw "this young woman". He said when recognized me, he felt like the luckiest man in the world! That just made me giggle and smile and feel so very special and GOOD!46 -

You can do all mine
My NSV is a bit of a barbed one: today's the first day in a good while I haven't woken up tired. It's partly due to sleeping through workout time, partly being able to get to bed a bit earlier last night...
But insufficient rest is frequently a source of weight stagnation for me, along with loads of other issues, so I'm happy to prioritise what I can to get this.13 -
I was a bit disappointed on Friday night - I met up with some cycling friends I haven't seen for a while and none of them really noticed my weight loss. The closest was someone who said my dress looked nice on me. But then on Saturday and Sunday I met up with different people who I haven't seen for a similar amount of time and they all came straight out with comments on it, so I'm a bit happier now that you can actually see the difference (I know you can from the way my clothes fit, but it's nice that other people can see it too).15

Lately, after I've had a meal, I've been feeling good. There's no gastric discomfort or intestinal issues. I feel light and energetic and I don't even notice discomfort inside of me. (This is new and it's wonderful.)24

Welp, I'm pretty solidly into smalls now unless it's sized for juniors, lol. Didn't expect that to come so soon. I accepted mediums quite easily but I seem to be in denial about smalls and keep reaching for mediums that are too big. Then I look at the smalls and I think, "well, I might as well try it and see, maybe I'm in between" and it fits perfectly.29

Looked down my body, and for the first time in about ten years could not see my belly cause my boobs were in the way. Used to be my belly stuck out further than my boobs.25

Finally got my new driver's license in the mail! Face gains abound! Lost a lot of chin, a lot of eyebrow, and a lot of hair, lol. Old one is on the left, from about 4-5 years ago.

Saturday and Sunday were not great calorie wise, but I jumped right back on the wagon and had a very positive day today.24
-
I'm done with physical therapy and took my exercise up a notch today by jogging for 30 minutes - the 1st time since the drunk driver totalled my car on the freeway at 90mph against the cement center divider back in September.
Bonus from jog, I turned a shade tanner as I easily tan so losing my winter color - legs not so pale.
I know... big whoop only 30 minutes... but this is also despite stupid asthma and finally recovered from injury.
I also gave away my secret stash of candy bars that I keep for my teacher's assistant but being honest, they really half end up in me from stress eating.23 -
@RelCanonical You missed an NSV...you actually look super cute in a driver's license photo! I didn't think that was possible for anyone!14

Thank you! I got lucky with the watermark this time, too, lol. The Mackinac Bridge isn't poking me in the forehead.7 -
Not where I want to be yet, but I can get into my kilt and look pretty okay in it.

Did you get it online or have it made? My husband has a lot of Swedish and Scottish and he wants a kilt SO bad. We go to a lot of heavy metal shows and he's always insanely jealous of the men we see there rocking them.5 -

I declined the regional treat for Mardi Gras offered at the office today. In Sweden it’s traditionally a large cardamom bun with almond paste and whipped cream. I decided the store-bought kind isn’t tasty enough and passed. Maybe I’ll have a mini home-made one at my parents’ house at a later date, maybe not.
