Today I found that I cannot carry my tote bag in my hand to the gym with a my arm fully extended down anymore, as it now drags on the ground. I'm guessing it's a change in the side fat levels, which apparently had my arms landing "higher" before.24

I went out to eat tonight. I didn't go somewhere where they list the calories on the menu, so I went with an educated guess. A six ounce sirloin and a side of rice pilaf filled me up, along with a roll. My son got onion rings, and while I could have had some if I'd wanted, I didn't even want. Dessert wasn't even contemplated. And I came in under budget, and I didn't have to stress about it at all. I know about how much I can eat these days, and I didn't have to worry. This is really nice.
Also, my bra is still just a smidge tight around the ribcage. This is a reminder to me to stick with it and get one more pound off so it fits better, as opposed to getting another bra. (grin)14 -
College guy gave me the up and down look twice. He saw my ring and moved on. I'm flattered because Im twice his age. I never got that kind of attention when I was obese on the Asian American bmi chart.12

Long story short, had to go buy new jeans yesterday. Went from a 36 waist to a 32 waist. Still having a hard time believing that I fit into those.21

I’ve stopped using a bra extender, happily my current set still fits well in the cup which is a double win (saving money and all that jazz).
I’m sure I’ll need to break out the extenders again in a month or two when I try to move down to my “nice” underwear drawer though 😂
Twice this week I left food on my plate from my packed lunch, because I was full. This never happens so I celebrate listening to my stomach!18 -
I got up out of bed this morning without my lower back in agony for the first time in what seems like years36

This is my saddest NSV. I was caught off guard by the amount of calories I burned yesterday, so I got a box of glazed donuts, which I remember eating several at a time, "back in the day."
...
It doesn't appear that I like donuts as much as I thought I did. There are four left in the box and I'm not even tempted by them. They have no substance or flavor other than "way too sweet."
My TDEE is high enough these days that I can get my protein in and have room for "whatever I want," but now I need to find a new favorite "indulgence..."21 -

I can't stand it. I feel so lazy. And I had to cut my calories to inactive job type rather than active. I don't like that lol. I like to eat.
So, while I'm keeping my calories where they are for the time being, I have a timer set on my fitbit for 20 minutes.
Every time it goes off, I get up, step out of view of the camera, and do 25 jumping jacks, 5 body weight squats, and run in place for a minute. Time permitting, of course. It won't always be exactly every 20 minutes because of phone calls, etc.
3 times per hour times 12 hours. I'm hoping it helps offset some of this activity change.
So, my calves are shot from all the running in place. Lol.
Yesterday, instead, every 30 minutes, I simply paced my little room for 6 minutes. 24 times a day, that's over two hours of walking in one shift.
My average daily steps have jumped from 1.7k (terrible, I know, I HATE being stuck at a desk) to 12k. They're almost back up to me pre-light duty average.
Meaning guess who gets to eat more!!! Me!!17 -
Found out I can do a tripod headstand. After my half marathon is over at the end of March I want to reduce my running to spend more time focusing on strength, balance, and stability. Long-term goal for that is to work up to a yoga headstand, a hand stand, then the mythical (for me) pull-up!18

bought a cute dress at thrift store, usually they are all just small sizes, but hey I am in the small size, size 8-10 medium dress, felt great to wear it!16

Figuring out which foods/supplements will help me increase my potassium levels. Thanks to MFP's ability to track micro- and macronutrients, I didn't realize I was constantly deficient.
While I'm not at 4700 mg/daily yet (and may never be for my eating habits), I've been slowly increasing my potassium intake week over week.12 -
After weeks of boating and feeling horrible in everything, I finally got rid of almost all of that extra weight. So naturally I decided it was time to shop for a date night dress and outfit—loved going in to the dressing room and having everything in my normal sizes fit perfectly. The only things that didn’t fit were too big! I forgot how good it feels to just put things on and have them fit.
Dressing room attendant commented, “Everything looks great on you! It’ll be so hard to decide!” Well, everything I wanted was 40% off clearance, so I got it all. And totally rocked my silver sparkly dress last night!39 -
I bought thermals in small and extra small... I fit comfortably in the extra small! I haven't been extra small since 2007. I was obese on the Asian American bmi chart but now normal bmi range.13

Bought a hiking waist pack/water bottle holder thing from Goodwill, like a huge fanny pack (I have some back/neck issues so backpacks hurt me and/or trigger a migraine)... I had tried it on to see how secure it felt (nice, wide waist belt, yay!). DH picked it up to check it out - he had to suck in to get it to buckle around his waist (I had just taken it off)! Whoop whoop! He’s always been quite slender at 6’ tall... and just a few months ago when I started this journey I had the hard realization that I outweighed him at 5’4”. Not anymore!!20

I had to buy new underwear 2 sizes smaller cuz the old ones were falling off.20

Ran 7 miles today! Before today the longest I had run (in many many many years) was 5 miles. It wasn’t the fastest but I felt good the entire time! Thinking I may sign up for a half marathon this summer...25 -
I’m down 19 lbs since Jan and today I noticed my yoga pants were a tad loose. I managed to walk 3.5 miles today too. When I first started I had trouble doing just one so that made me feel pretty good.24

I got into size 8 jeans today. When I started I was a size 20.

I wore my new thermals that are clingy but comfortable on a hike with a friend (3 year long so she's seen my obese phase as defined on the Asian American bmi chart) and she said I was little and shapely. I have always had an apple shaped body storing all my excess weight in my waist. My shadow showed a waist instead of the usual rectangle shape. I went home to measure for actually numerical evidence. My waist decreased 7 inches within the last 8 months or so. I don't bother taking my waist measurements because I know it's my worst body asset therefore 8 months gap between measurements.14

Two nsv this weekend I managed my first run after 3 weeks of sickness and came back in exactly where I'd left off on my training before with no problems. I was all geared up to scale back the intervals, but the strength training last week has obviously woken my cv system up enough to manage OK. Feels really good not to gasping for breath.
Secondly I have my in laws staying, so I got my strength training done first thing before everyone was up, rather than putting it off this evening because I don't want to be squatting and grunting in the living room in front of my father in law (that's just weird).
Now I have to manage to navigate dinner out somewhere tonight without letting the fact I'm hungry and have no plan get in the way.13 -

Bra-vo! Just wow.4 -
I can definitely see some body changes. I don't have little billows of fat either side of my knees when I stand any more. My belly droops less. It also feels like the rolls of fat on my mid-lower back aren't as big.
This is really encouraging.
@NatalieBkk: How long did that take you? I started at a 20, and am wondering if a 12 or an 8 by December is at all rational.12 -
I just got to work and noticed I unknowingly put on my son's jeans. They were 2 sizes smaller than mine.24
-
I just bought a new outfit for an event - high waisted pants, and an almost-crop top. NSV is that I would not have gone near this style before...I was too self-conscious of my stomach.15

I swim 2000 meters a few times a week as part of my normal workout routine. Sometimes I will push it and do 2500, but that leaves me exhausted. I wanted to see how far I could swim without stopping and resting. I pushed myself one day last week and was able to get in 3200 meters. I felt like I could have kept going, but the pool was closing.26

I was in the gym today and had a visit between sets with a trainer I've known for several years and her client. After that, I was doing bent over rows and in the mirror I saw both of them checking out the back of my arms. (I think it was my arms) The trainer said something about my progress, but I cant remember what since my ear buds were in at the time.15

I have logged in for over a month, I made a relatively good choice in food eating out today, and instead of going the short way on my run I went the long way and ran 2.7 miles! Also all of this is especially impressive (to me at least) because I have been sick and coughing all week so it was harder to get motivated. Hope you all have a great week full of new nsvs!19

I've noticed that we have an impressive array of snacks at home now. Even a half eaten bag of potato chips. And I have no problems resisting temptation, I just take a small portion when my calorie goal allows for it.
Snacks didn't use to survive this long24 -
I broke through 1 million steps for the year to date from less than 2k a day 12 months ago37
