Wow, you must feel so much different. When I hit my goal I'll have lost 25%, I'm halfway there and even at 13% I have so much more energy and have seen so many changes in my body.

I will do a cardio workout and strength training in one day. Be careful of overdoing strength type stuff and not giving enough time to recover.

I had surgery 4 months ago. I couldn't do anything strenuous for exercise for about a month (Doctors orders). I had to hold myself back and build things up slow to avoid injuring myself and derailing the effort. I guess that's a cautionary tale, I hurt myself a couple times figuring that out.

Be honest with yourself about food intake and exercise, be patient and commit to changing your habits permenantly rather than thinking of it as a diet.

I had a similar wake up call. Counting calories and mfp has helped me tremendously.

My wife and I went through this 3 years ago. I will say it hurt and it seemed at times like life could never be the same. It took a while for us to get to the point where we could even start trying again but things get better over time. Hang in there.

I was unable to exercise for a month due to a surgery but was able to continue losing weight just by counting my calories. It definitely makes things tough though . You could probably do some weight training on a bench.

Blacken carrots in a sauté with olive oil. And yeah sweet potatoes if they count. Thought they were more if a starchy thing like regular potatoes.

6 months ago I decided to eat healthily and lose weight. In 4.5 months I lost 13 lbs. I started using mfp 1.5 months ago since when I have lost about 12 lbs. It is easier and less stressful to me to not fret over the weight goals. I just made the decision to eat healthy and slowly increase my physical activity as my body can handle it without busting myself up over it. I'm not in college anymore, but I sure do wish I'd have stopped the overweight thing then. Before i had to face diabetese, high BP and high chilies toro before I hit 30. Just saying make the change now before it is too late.

My doctor says I have pre diabetes, I've hit the elliptical, upped the fruit/veggies while cutting the carbs & fat. Next appointmenr in October. Hope to see a big improvement .
