I use a 24 hour period due to the fact that I work shift work and my sleep schedule is constantly changing...seems to work as I have lost 13 pounds so far!

You retain more water during that time of the month, so you could easily see the scale fluctuate during this time. My advice is cutback on your sodium intake during this period and you should be able to even out the water retention.

I usually just account for those calories during the day so I can enjoy a regular beer or mixed drink. This usually motivates me to work out a little harder at the gym that day!

I work a variety of shifts and I have found that the best thing for me is to log a twenty four hour period regardless of when I sleep or work. I go from 1201 am to 1159 pm.

I try to stick to calorie free drinks for the most part, because I agree that it is a waste of calories. However, on the weekend I do indulge in beer and wine and have still been able to continuously lose weight!

I personally love vitamin water zero and I also love the sobe lifewater zero. I try to drink equal amounts of straight water for each one I drink. I know some people are against artifical sweetners, but if it keeps you from drinking the empty calories associated with real sugar than I say go for it!
