I'm 53 this year, two years ago I was 297lbs at 6'2". Today I'm at 205lb. You all can do this. Just keep in mind that this is a lifetime commitment to change. This is not a diet. This is not an exercise program. This is a permanent change to your eating and activity routines. Plan accordingly. There is no 90 day program,…

52 here, I've lost 70 or more pounds 4 times in the last 25 years. Don't make up excuses to sabotage yourself.
-
Such a HUGE accomplishment.....PROUD PROUD PROUD!!!!!
-
Watch the sodium, drink a gallon of water per day, EXERCISE and do not obsess on the scale.
-
Can you see a difference? lol

Anyway, Whatamilike, thanks for the chuckle, I get the feeling you're a great laugh :drinker:

Well over here I think these people actually think they look good in the tight clothes, rather than thinking they'll lose weight. Either way STOP THE INSANITY!!!!!
-
Isn't that called a girdle? Over here in the states there are alot of REALLY overweight people that subscribe to that theory. I vote that it's just not working.
-
Ok so I read your post and I thought I wrote it. Of course, first off, congrats on the 87lbs, what a huge change. I like the suggestion about talking to your Doc if you haven't already. I did that. Sometimes it just is what it is. I personally am at the point where the conversation in my head is "I'm going to do what I…

Most important lessons learned from this journey: 1. Sometimes you have to ignore the numbers on the scale, and go by the way your clothes are fitting you. 2. There will be weeks, and sometimes months, when you just don't lose anything. You can't get discouraged. You have to move forward and maybe change things up. 3.…

It's always amazing to see the kind of change that you've made. You've done an amazing job. And you're so darn pretty!!!! But I'd like you so much more if you had shared that COOL PHONE APP!!!!!!! :)

Oh I didn't answer your question. I think a light beer is best, low on cals and fills you quick. Although a mixed drink has a shot that will probably be a few less cals then a beer, the mixer will probably have many cals. So I'm for a beer or two.
-
You have plenty of cals left today. One regular beer is around 125 cals, nurse it, have two at the most. One evening of a few empty cals is not going to ruin all your efforts to this point and derail your train from continuing to chug along to your goal. Be conscious but don't sweat it.

This site provides alot of great encouragement, but the motivation has to be in your own head. What makes getting healthy important to you? If you can't find motivation in the answers to that question, the only thing this site can do for you is perhaps help you find an answer that DOES motivate you. Browse people's success…

Thanks everyone, I appreciate all the kind words.

Mindset is the key in losing weight and gettting healthy. Losing weight is not a straight line down. In the short term there are lots of ups and downs. The key is making the long term a downward trend. To do that you have to be ok with the downs. They happen and will happen again. The only way to get past the downs is to…

Unfortunately I don't know how to post a picture on MFP, but you can go to my profile and see them. Sorry.

I started Week 17 this week and I'm down 18lbs since I started. That's a little over a pound a week. It could have been more if I had been stricter with my diet. But slow and steady works for me. The big plus to TF is the great shape you're in when you get to this point. It's a tough workout but it's not boring and I look…

Here's my recipe. I love Shakeology. I make mine using a Magic Bullet and crushed ice. The Magic Bullet makes it quick and easy to clean up. Dole - Banana (7-8"), 0.5 Medium Blue Diamond - Unsweetened Almond Milk , 1 cup Splenda W/ Fiber - Splenda - No Calorie Sweetener W/1g of Fiber, 1tsp, 3 teaspoon Smucker's - Natural…

Thanks for inviting me to the group. I just got done with TF HIIT 30, Lower 20 and Stretch 10 and burned 796 calories. I'm on Week 17 and my last day of Week 20 should be Xmas. My goal is to drop 11lbs by then and be at 220lbs which will be 77lbs down. That's not all from TF but I love TF. It's not boring, it's doesn't get…

I'm sure you meant "your're NOW ready" and not "you're NOT ready". LOL But I'm right there with you, every day must start out positive. The rest is what you make it.
-
Congrats on getting started, it's just a matter of time.
-
Great story, congratulations on changing your life and welcome, you'll enjoy it here.
-
I tell everyone and use the iPhone app, you can't make it any easier then MFP does.
-
MFP makes it so easy a caveman could do it.

I've never watched TBL and never will. I completely agree with Tom V and his honest assessment of the show. The terrible messages that this show gives people far outweighs the slight chance that it will get someone to workout. If that show were focused on children, there would be outrage and it would be cancelled. But…
