Thanks @lexbubbles, @cycletrak1 and @roxilegend! I added my info. Looking forward to doing this with everyone.

Amen to this! I used to work out with the football team at my high school and ended up lifting more than some of my guy friends in college (and now at my training facility). I love it! And I agree with many others that it can be intimidating no matter who you are. Research, good music and gradual improvement is essential.

Absolutely WONDERFUL!!! Congratulations. I am so glad you decided to share your story!

Yep...completely normal. I'd been with my boyfriend (now husband) less than a year before we moved in together. Thing is, we knew we wanted to see how we got along under the same roof (sleepovers aren't the same) because we wanted to see if it would work long-term. Turned out that it did. We've been living together for…

Beautiful in both sets of photos, but even healthier and happier now! Fantastic job. Thanks for sharing your journey!

Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire rock, and I recently got into DDP Yoga (www.ddpyoga.com). My weight hasn't moved a bunch, but I'm definitely losing inches (a big deal for me). I get bored really easily, but the Turbo series and DDP keep me engaged.

I thought this post was about me. ;) Request sent!

Welcome Michy! I am the same height at you and relish the day that I hit your weight :) Every body is different and a lot of great advice has already been provided above. Your body does need time to adjust to a new change--it took mine nearly a a month before I was seeing significant losses, so do not fret. Also, we women…

[I'd] bump [that.]

I was on metformin while on the Pill and didn't have any issues. I feel like an IUD is a major decision--I'd get a second opinion.

I LOVE TurboFire and was a Turbo Jam junkie for years. I am two weeks into the program (restarted after a shoulder injury), but am doing a hybrid of that and DDP Yoga. My cardiovascular performance is greatly improved, as is my stamina (the HIIT workouts are tough, but effective). Music is great too. I'll be able to post…

^bump^ (and hoping that my 40F-bombs become bit more manageable over time. lol!)

I just had to do the SAME thing with my husband this weekend. Yeah, didn't make me feel great, but I'm glad he was finally honest! And OP, men come and go. You'll find the person that loves you for YOU and will be with you through thick and thin (literally and figuratively). I'm not too keen on the fact that homeboy…

Hi there! I have 100+ lbs to lose myself, but am trying to look at it in increments. When I first started (one of the first restarts...) I remember I lost 3lbs in a one week at most. I was on Jenny Craig at the time and it was sort of artificial--I knew I couldn't live on packaged food the rest of my life, so I had to…

I have adopted an 80-90% GF lifestyle. It affects everyone differently, but in my case I started getting my period again (after a 1.5 year absence) two weeks after not eating gluten. It hasn't been a fluke so far--I've had my period two months in a row and around the same time. I'm hoping for month 3. In the past I'd tried…

From what I've read, a Misto sprays approximately one-forth teaspoon per second of spray. Based on 120 calories/tablespoon of olive oil this equals 10 calories per second of spray.

THIS! On so many levels. And yes, I own this movie. :drinker:

The pride just shows in your face. Congratulations! You are definitely an inspiration to me. Thanks for sharing!

That is FABULOUS!! CONGRATS! I am excited about getting to that point eventually too! (I'm 5'7") :)

It can get a little boring (but that made food prep easier for me), however: -frozen veggies -family-size chicken packs (bone and skin them yourself) -large bag of brown rice -beef / pork (you can trim visible fat) on sale -canned tuna -plenty of salt-free seasonings just to change things up I freeze whatever meats I…

I have PCOS too. I just started back on MFP and am exercising. 6lbs lost this month, so it's a start but I have a looong way to go. Also trying to get in baby-making shape. :) Anyone can add me if they like!

Depends on where you're getting it, but if it's on a part of your body that flexes/moves when you lift, just take it easy for a few days. I got the first part of my back piece done in early summer last year. I was annoyed by fabric rubbing against it, even with gauze and ointment (it is large). It was fine after a few…

A whole carton of Arnott's Tim Tams (chocolate biscuits filled with chocolate cream and then double-dipped in chocolate). We had an exchange roommate from Australia that introduced me to them. At the time, they weren't readily available in the US, so that prevented me from acquiring them. However, I recently found them at…

Right...I 'm not saying to tell kids they are a failure. I'm only saying that you need to learn to benefit from your losses. [/quote] COMPLETELY agree.

Reading your story and seeing your pics made me tear up! Sometimes I feel like it will never happen, but this was an awesome reminder to be patient and persistent. Thank you and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

This has happened to me too. Ridiculous...

Everyone's comments were great. And I second (third? fourth?) the support about riding to get yourself a well-deserved treat. Ef 'em. I hope that the next time this happens to me I remember some of these snazzy retorts!

Welcome, from another NoVA resident. You'll find that there are a lot of great folks on her that can encourage and trade war stories with you. I wish you luck! You can do this. We all can with the right support.
