There are some pretty good "desserts" that incorporate protein. I saw a chocolate lava cake recipe that was pretty good. I also like greek yogurt with honey and nuts.

How about the "I'm broke" excuse. Walking/jogging is free--no equipment or gym membership necessary.

I find adding green tea helps me feel less bloated. I drink 1 cup of coffee in the am, breakfast is a protein smoothie (to fit my schedule), and I drink 1 to 1 1/2 gallons of water each day. At work I drink 1-2 cups of green tea. On days I don't get my tea I feel like I have more of a belly pooch.

Here's hoping lowering BF will help! I'm at 23.7% and working on getting it lower.

Question: Aren't push-ups a compound exercise?
-
@JoRocka Do you do all of those move every workout (save the lat raises)? Say 4-5 days a week? I hear you on the shoulders...tank top season is coming!
-
I step on my scale daily. It helps me keep little things in check. I officially weigh every week or two using the body composition analysis machine at complete nutrition. This is what I use to update and track.

I'm on the other side of this story. At my heaviest I bought 36C. (Probably not the right size.) Now I measure at 34A/32B close to moving down to 32A/30B. At some point I might be shopping for training bras again!

In addition to the exercises above, I love doing supermans (superwomans) either on the floor or even better on a bosu!

Hi all. I'm in VA about 1/2 way between the nations capitol and the state capitol. Married to my soul mate with 2 adult kids and 2 adult bonus kids (hubby's) and 2 dogs.

Hi. I'm 47, married, 2 adult children. I've recently recommitted to MFP. I'm tracking but not so precisely that I weigh my 1/2 banana. I workout in the early am using moderate weights 6 days a week and go to the gym in the evenings 4-5 days a week to build my cardio. I'd like to start getting more serious about lifting…
-
The only part that bothers me is the is that others might try to mimic and expect the same results. BUT we are all different and even if you try what I actually do to get fit you probably won't get the same results. I usually just MMOB.

I do YouTube video workouts every morning. Currently I'm doing Ideal Lean 12 Week program (I'm finishing week 10.) I'd like to move on to a heavy lifting schedule similar to ^^^ annherrin (above.)

I'm not big on low-carb or high-carb. Currently on 40P-40C-20F based on my TDEE with 20% reduction. Working to losing <10 lbs and reducing BF% from 24 to 20.

I agree with the "if you're not hungry don't eat" idea but for me if I don't eat (actually usually a protein smoothie so drink) breakfast, there is NO WAY I eat enough the rest of the day. I'm trying to get my body fat % to the 20% range and need to get in all of my food.

This is why I force myself to do an AM workout (20 mins 6 days/wk.) Then if I skip my evening workout its not a total blow-out. Someone once told me to put on my workout clothes then decide if I was going. It's harder not to if you're already ready to go.

My recipe: 1/3 cup oatmeal 3 egg whites 1/3 cup low-fat, no salt added cottage cheese 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. honey 1 scoop vanilla whey powder I blend it in the blender. Easy Peesy.

Lots of great ideas already. If you're looking for a more sweet option I do greek yogurt with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a drizzle of honey.

I too quit smoking and gained about 15 pounds. The weight didn't budge for over a year but I'm finally seeing progress. Not too worried about the scale as much as measurements which is where I'm seeing some progress. Good luck and take advantage of the tools on here!

I'm doing a class that is 1/3 weights, 1/3 Plyometics, 1/3 cardio. I don't lift as heavy as some but I'm hanging closer to the weights the guys are doing. I didn't notice a lot of toning at first but now all my friends are noticing my legs and arms. And I'm starting to see definition in my abs and back. I love it!! Also,…

Cottage cheese with spices and a hard boiled egg. (Hey I saw this in the AM.)

My goal is to try to do cardio, weight training, plyo, agility, and stretching. Not all even amounts but balanced to help me be well rounded. Bottom line is do what you need to to reach YOUR goal. And don't do anything to lose weight that you won't continue to maintain your weight-loss. JMHO

Oooohhh. Thanks Francl27! I need to try with carrot cake! I've done the Angel food with crushed pineapple, too. But the pumpkin fits the season.

During my weight loss (70lbs lost--but I recently found 15 of them) I started with no cheating (2-3 mos). Then I added one cheat meal a month. (My fav was chicken cheese steak at a local place.) After that one cheat a month I continued to lose.
-
Good stuff, but I have to note that I only broke through a plateau by having a cheat meal and then right back on track. (This is from my 70lb loss 6 yrs ago.) So yes try dropping cals but if that doesn't work, don't be afraid to have 1 cheat meal. (I actually did one per month throughout my 10 mos I was losing the weight.

I use plain greek yogurt in place of sour cream. I also like it with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a drizzle of honey. Oh and I love to mix it with PB2 and dip apples into it.
