Fighting excuses

I am really fighting the excuses today. I know I need to push through and go to the gym just like I know once I get there I'm going to love it but damn the mind is arguing today.

You can do it! You'll feel much better than if you don't!0

Those are the days I have to set myself up for success rather than failure. Leave the gym bag in the middle of the floor where I have to trip over it every time I walk around my desk; put "gym time" in my calendar so nobody schedules something else over it; plan something excruciatingly boring for dinner if I DON'T go to the gym so I can "reward"myself for going by having something different/more exciting!0

This is why I do my workouts at home for the time being. I've joined the gym about a dozen times throughout the years and always fell into the excuses. I use my stationary bike and dancing for cardio and have 3 different weight sizes for free weights.0

@capaul42 for me I am the opposite. If I go home the old me wins everytime. If I go straight to the gym I win 95% of the time.
I would like to think as I get further in the journey my mindset will change.0 -
I find the best thing is to tell myself I will go do 15 minutes and then if I don't feel like it, I will leave. I have never left without finishing the workout. The key is to simply start.0

I find it best to drag myself (kicking and screaming) to the gym, find a piece of equipment, and try to pace the sweaty dude next to me.
My inner macho wins every time.0 -
Yup, everyone has their own way to come up with and fight excuses. Hope you find a good fight for yours!0

Take off your shirt and look in the mirror and ask yourself if you should skip.0

This is why I force myself to do an AM workout (20 mins 6 days/wk.) Then if I skip my evening workout its not a total blow-out.
Someone once told me to put on my workout clothes then decide if I was going. It's harder not to if you're already ready to go.0 -
Don't argue with yourself. God knows I don't. I just do it. Don't think, just do. Some days, yeah, don't feel like it, but I just lower the intensity and do it anyway. I have never regretted doing my workouts.0

Someone told me to go and at least do at 10 min warm up then if you don't feel like doing it don't but the point is you at least went and attempted for the day0
