  • My confession; I have diligently followed this thread from start to finish (despite not really having the time to do so..) and have to say - there are so many truly amazing people here! Keep doing what you are doing people. I have been entertained beyond comprehension by this thread and I want to thank you all for that :)…
  • I have done the hot chocolate powder thing. Just kept dipping the spoon in water and back in the powder, rinse and repeat. Was actually amazing so now I have to have the sachets instead of the big pot so I don't do it again haha. Humm a confession. My daughter doesn't like crusts on her sandwiches so some days when I am…
  • Me, my partner and my daughter all have separate 'treat' boxes in the cupboard haha :P we all generally like different types of food anyways, and we are always willing to share with each other. If there is something in the fridge/freezer that I want at a later date I simply ask my partner to leave me some. Simple :)
  • Yep old thread but totally amazing! So 122 days at an average of a thousand calories per day is 122,000 which is ... -61 chinese takeaways -76 pints of ben and jerrys -470 magnums -690 bags of doritos -2440g of chocolate spread Haha :)
  • I second pretzels! I am from the UK and round here they aren't common so when I went to America I was really excited to try one! Blergh it was so salty and chewy and awful, and normally things like that. Dunkin Donut's did not disappoint however...
  • Banana dipped in a toffee yoghurt - mmm banoffee :) Iceberg lettuce dipped in tomato ketchup.. Can't think of any more right now !
  • Putting a christmas nightie on last night that I distinctly remember was very very tight at the beginning of this year, and it turning out to be ridiculously baggy. Like my three year old actually fit into it with me, with extra room haha. I mean, I knew I would have more room but still, not that much!
  • Wow what an amazing and emotional story, you truly are an inspiration. I honestly can't praise you enough, saying 'well done' doesn't even cover it. A family member of mine had a stroke last week and is still in hospital, we don't know what is going to happen to her. Reading your story was painful but it really helped…
  • Thanks! I found this helpful and uplifting - it's nice to be reminded that it's how I feel (and look) rather than some numbers on a scale .. thanks again :)
  • Happens all the time with my family. They even talk about me with each other like I am not there e.g. 'she is getting too thin isn't she? wasting away. you know it's unhealthy to be too skinny' etc etc. To be honest I just ignore it now and say I have stopped losing weight, and am just trying to maintain. It does bother me…
  • Hey OP sorry you went through that! I'm posting because I just went through a similar thing! Up until a week ago, ridiculously, I was hiding the calorie counting from my family incase they thought I was OCD/eating disorder etc etc. My mum saw me weigh out a snack yesterday and totally flipped and accused me of all of the…
  • If I have some sort of biscuit which has a creamy filling (custard cream, bourbon, oreos) then I usually have to have two because I have to pull them apart and sandwich them back together and double up the creamy part...I feel weird if there is only one biscuit left and I have to eat it on it's lonesome :(
  • By the sounds of it, this is something you're really looking forward to (dreaming of it, i know the feeling though) so I think you should just enjoy it, and log whatever you can remember - and don't panic about seeing all the red numbers! Just get back on track the next day. It's sad to deny yourself and 'dread' this…
  • I weigh pretty much everything. It's something that makes me feel in control of at least one thing in my life haha :)
  • I dread this aswell, because I don't have great self control when the food IS RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF ME ... calling me. I agree with the other posters, give them away or put them away and walk away!!!
  • Thanks this is right up my street, will deffo try :)
  • Flapjacks (I'm from the uk, so I don't mean pancakes :P) !! I used to eat one nearly every single day, and they are my favourite food - turns out it was nearly 400 cals for that one bar. Every. day. I do miss them though.
  • I have porridge for supper a good few hours before bed but try and save about 50 cals for a bit of fruit or carrot sticks an hour before sleep time :) I too find it hard to go to sleep when I'm hungry and all i can think about is food !
  • because...I have already prelogged and am within my calorie goal and it looks pretty tasty :)
  • Either cinnamon and raisins (with the occasional mashed banana) OR my new found favourite, a dash of golden syrup :) mmm!
  • Aw I am so sorry you went through that, it sounds awful! But it does teach you something about your parenting, doesn't it? I mean, you said your daughter has never commented on your weight or anyone elses, which looks to me like you have taught her that it is what is on the inside that counts. Same can't be said for the…
  • I wouldn't say I appreciate being made fun of, but it was an offhand comment about my weight that sparked the start of my weight loss journey so I do understand!
  • Sooo amazing! Honestly well done and thanks for posting your successes!
  • Hi Steph :) I don't have any useful advice for you but wanted you to know I am sort of in the same boat ... I am 23 and have multiple cysts on my ovaries, haven't had a period in over a year, and my doc has said I have 'some symptoms' of pcos but I haven't been diagnosed with it. Thyroid has been tested and everything. I…
  • No problem! Let me know if you try it with a different variation and how it turns out :)
  • About 50 - 70 pound including necessities other than food! That's for two adults and a very hungry toddler :) I buy things like dried fruit and nuts, yoghurts, tonnes and tonnes of fresh fruit (from fruiterers as it is fresher and cheaper), chicken, pasta, rice, curry sauces, porridge, usually frozen vegetables (I know, I…
  • Porridge definitely! You can make it up the night before and let the oats soak in milk/water and then microwave it/cook it on the hob in the morning in five minutes! Then add raisins, bananas, apples etc etc whatevers to your taste! Peanut butter is actually v good with it aswell. I have it every morning and it keeps me…
  • I ate an entire cheesecake once because everyone was too full after their dinner to have a piece. I started off with a little slice, and then I just dipped the spoon into the container and BAM it was gone in about five minutes. Never again (hopefully)! Also my partner and I ordered a gigantic chinese takeaway last weekend,…
