  • I had mine out when I was 22, young and thin - I didn't have much choice though as it was discovered when one of the stones got lodged and I collapsed at work. It was done via a laprascope and I was back at work within a week. I've not noticed any foods that I cant eat as a result of its removal I take omeprazole every day…
  • In 1994 I had major spinal surgery. I was told I'd ever be able to do physical sports again (aged 21). At 39 I won my first national medal in a veterans hammer throwing competition. I expect the surgeon would have had a fit if he'd thought I'd risked his handy work on such a 'dangerous sport - but I did hammer for nearly…
  • 16 years with endo until I had a hyst aged 29 to get my life back - now I just have adhesions to contend with! Put on a lot of weight since the hyst - now trying to get back to the pre-hyst weight Feel free to add me
  • Hi there We could be twins - well similar weight, height and age, goals and tendencies - I'm a hammer thrower rather than a runner but after a year out with injury I've not reduced my food intake to match my exercise reduction. I'm now finding new ways to exercise injured and looking forward to better weather to exercise…
  • It depends what you mean by workout. Everybody should have a rest day each week to allow their muscles to repair - but a rest day could still include walking and swimming (assuming the other 6 days are more strenuous workouts). If it's not heavy or excessive workouts then doing every day shouldn't really be a problem. Just…
  • Well I need my fuel at a different time of day. I don't want breakfast at 0530 in the morning. I want my cals about 6pm before I go off to an intense exercise or training session. It gives me energy to burn off more calories in the workouts. At weekends I throw hammer so I do eat breakfast, but it depends when you need…
  • I'd say don't listen to what anyone says on this and go with what your body tells you. Experts will say its the most important meal of the day, but if like me you get up really early and the thought of food in the morning makes you feel sick then what's wrong with waiting until lunchtime? I usually skip breakfast - unless…
  • Useful link - thanks. Just checked it out and it seems I have been underestimating my calories burnt. That;s great news

  • Depends how active you are during it. I throw myself into it and we have some fast and furious set pieces so I class it as high impact aerobics. I'd be keen to know if there is a more accurate measure - but I assume each class will be different

  • Hi there, I had a hyst and ovary removal at 29 in 2002 and put on weight afterwards through lack of exercise and confrort eating. I managed to lose it all again when I put my mind to it. In between I went a little off the rails enjoying the life that had been restricted to me due to the problems I needed the hyst for - I…
  • We will be each other's motivation. We both want to do it so we shall.
  • Well done you. That's why I am here and dieting as I have gone up to a FF and they are just too big. I want to wear prettier bras. I can't wait to get down do a DD as I used to be curvygoth
  • Hi there, My husband and I are both vegetarian and hate mushrooms and are not particularly fond of vegetables. I can manage more than him but he tends to turn green when presented with green things on his plate!!! Our diet staples tend to be bread, cheese, tomatos, pasta etc - which is why we are here!! Our protein is…
