  • Nothing like a good challenge! CW: 153.8 4/1 GW: 142
  • These are fantastic! Thank you all :)
  • You look great! I'm also 5'7, and started out at about 171, so it's great to see comparison pics of someone else my height and near my starting weight :)
  • I'm going to do the one in Southern California at the end of March. I'm so excited about it, looks like tons of fun! I'm sure there are people of all fitness levels there - I say go for it, I'm sure you'll be glad you did :)
  • I'm proud that I had a salad today for lunch instead of ordering the oh-so-tempting butter chicken :)
  • I actually used to have cellulite on the backs of my legs, and hated wearing shorts. After doing weight training for about 3 months, my legs are much more muscular, and the cellulite is about 90% gone. I guess when muscle replaces fat, it can go away :)
  • Juice them!! add some other veggies in the juice as well, but cucumbers fill the juice out a lot, and have a nice refreshing taste :)

  • Hey kral, I've had the same juicer as you for over a year now, and it's been fantastic. At first I was hesitant to juice vegetables, but if you start out with the ones that don't have much flavour (cabbage, zucchini, beets, spinach ect), that helps. Another option is to throw an apple, which really helps sweeten the whole…
  • I also bring my own popcorn! You can either bring a bag of microwaved low fat, or air pop your own and add some seasonings :)
  • I found at first it was very difficult for me too. After about a week though, I guess my body got used to it as I felt that hunger much less. Also, working out for the extra calories really helps too! :)
  • Hey saigal! I'm looking to lose about 15 more pounds. I'm on this site a lot so I'd be happy to help out with encouragement. Feel free to add me :)
  • I use 1/2 light mayo, 1/2 fat free plain yogurt. Cuts the calories and you don't even notice! I do the usual - chicken, celery, green onions and sometimes egg whites to stretch it out. Seasoning is always mayo, a tiny bit of mustard, salt, pepper. Simple and delicious!
  • That really sucks. I dislike it when vegans have that "all or nothing" approach. I really enjoy vegan food sometimes, and I even try to make a point to lean more towards that way of eating, but that doesn't mean I don't eat meat once in a while. I think any reduction in eating meat helps the planet, even if its just one…
  • I love this! It's so true though. I feel WAY sexier, and I think that makes it all that much more fun. Congrats, and keep at it
  • Yup! I love Raspberry Vodka and soda water. It's refreshing, and comes in at under 100 calories!
  • I don't like the no carb diets at all, BUT, when I did the first (and only) one (atkins) about a year ago, I lost about 15 pounds in two weeks, and I found that a lot of that weight came from my stomach. Of course, this works differently with everyone, so who knows how it would work for you. I'd suggest just drink TONS of…
  • In the mornings I'll blend a banana, almond milk, frozen blueberries and hemp protein. The protein really helps to keep me full longer, and I'm usually not hungry after for a couple of hours. It's a great healthy start! I avoid the pre-packaged shakes though, they are loaded with preservatives and chemicals.
  • Hey, I feel similar. I would look in the mirror and think that I looked pretty good, until I would see a photo of me out with my friends and realize how I REALLY looked. That was when I decided something had to change. My goal is to lose 30 - 40 lbs, and I'm happy to help encourage you along the way if you want to add me.…
  • If your body naturally burns 1900 a day, and you are eating 1400/day, then you are already at a 500 calorie deficit, which will allow you to lose 1 lb/ week. To lose 2 lb/week, you'll need to work out to burn an additional 500 calories per day. Try a mix of cardio and weights, that's what I like best. As you build muscle,…
  • I prefer digital, because it's just easier to read. I do check it once a month with some pre-determined weight, like my 10 pound hand weights, just to make sure it's right on.
  • you might want to try some sort of water exercises in a pool, or perhaps a recumbent stationary bike. Those quite likely will be less impact on you. This is just a suggestion though, you should probably go to your dr and see what they suggest. Good luck!
  • I'd say just be sure to watch what you eat, and try to get some exercise in, even if for half an hour. Try to mix it up too, and keep challenging yourself no matter how short of a time you are in the gym. Try going for walks or doings stairs during your break. :) good luck, and don't get discouraged!

  • I weigh myself and record it every morning. I don't really see it as discouraging, even if my weight goes up by a pound or two within a day. I know that my weight naturally fluctuates, and when I see my graph going up and down over the days but just down over the weeks, I know that the weight is coming off. I think it…
  • Take it to the tailor! It'll be cheaper than buying a new one.
  • I like to keep a "before" and "current' picture on my fridge, which helps me see how far I've come when I get down on myself. It really encourages me to keep going when I see how far I've already come. We're always the ones who judge ourselves the hardest. You look fantastic!!
  • I was hooked within days of signing up for this site! It really helps that there are lots of other people you can lean on for encouragement and advice. Good luck!!

  • I've lost 10 dozen eggs, and have a spare tire to go :) This is great, thanks for posting!
  • I have a Breville juicer and it's really awesome. It takes all the pulp out, and even has a strainer in the catching cup to get any trailing pieces of pulp. I juice carrots, celery, cucumber, tomatoes and cabbage, and then add an apple. Honestly, all you really can taste is the slight sweetness of the apple, and you don't…
  • I like raspberry vodka and soda water. Light and a little sweet!
