myself - I currently have a digital, but it's on the fritz and will give me 6 different numbers if I step on it 6 times in a row. So, do you prefer the digital scale or the old scale with the dial (i guess that's what it's called...LOL)

You may want to refresh its battery...sometimes mine does that when it needs to be changed LOL0

I prefer digital, because it's just easier to read. I do check it once a month with some pre-determined weight, like my 10 pound hand weights, just to make sure it's right on.0

digital or the dr scale0

That is a great idea.0

Ive been using a "dial" for the past couple months. Last wk it got stuck and wont move, so I bought a digital one and come to find out the dial one was 8lbs off! (I compared it with the one where I work (doctor office) so it through everything off for me
Digital is the way to go now!0 -
i prefer digital as it gives me the most accurate reading. Once a week or so i put my 3lb weight on it just to check and make sure it is correct.0

I have both as well...I usually put my 5lb weights on each side of the scale to see if it will measure out to 10. Usually my cheap dial scale works over the digital. The digital is about 2-3 pounds off.0

@ACook - we actually have to change the batteries about 1 time a month...that's another reason I'm thinking I need to replace the entire scale...LOL
@Everyone else - I will have to put my 3lb weights on it when I get home...that never even crossed my mind...LOL! Unfortunately if it shows the right weight for them then I have gained 2lbs in a week :noway:0 -
i swear by my digital!0

I just checked my digital scale with the trick to use a hand weight....I used an 8lb wight and it was saying it was 9lbs. So I guess I am still doing pretty good or I should break down and get a new scale because I don't think I can adjust it.0 -
I tested the scale with both of my 3lb weights this morning and the first reading was 5.8lbs - after that the scale wasn't even registering that the weights were there :ohwell:0

Fantastic idea!
And I concur completely...0 -
I had the same effect with a 5 lb weight (the scale didn't even know it was there), but the two together ( a 5 and an 8) came up as 13 lbs....just the 8 lb alone said it weighed 9 lbs....go figure. :huh:0

I don't keep a scale at home b/c I get totally obsessive. That said, I get super annoyed when people at the gym fail to slide the weights back to the left, and it hasn't been calibrated in eons. I usually don't know what I weigh until I have a dr's appt.0

I replaced my digital one when the old one kept measuring all different, even with new batteries. I 'upgraded" to one that has .2 increments, not just the .5.0

the scale i currently have does the .2 increments as well that's why i like it so much. I definitely think we just need a new one, we've had this one for 5+ years0
