  • I always have had chunky short legs :( I've found going running has really helped... I hate running, but its worth it - burns loads of calories and if you're outdoors a spot of fresh air is good for the spirits too. I actually have room in my knee high boots now, I never used to be able to zip them up. :)
  • Yup, & mouth ulcers - my dietician advised me to avoid foods with high salicylic acid... like Pineapples, Tomatos, Summer Fruits (Blackcurrants, Strawbs etc) ... which really helps, tho is annoying - sometimes these things are ok when cooked I find or in small doses. The most annoying one I have found recently is Sweet…
  • My whole life changed when I found a 'Couch to 5k' app called "Get Running' and I taught myself to run - Started in Feb/Mar 10 unable to walk far without losing breathe and this January I managed to run (mostly run, anyways) an 8.75mile off-road run called The Grim Challenge. I cant give full credit the app for that, as…
  • Hi Have you tried Amazon? they normally have a good selection of pretty much everything.. & good prices too! http://www.amazon.co.uk/ :)
  • I love to blatt out a bit of Pendulum when running - (In Silico & Immersion both have some good fast tracks) but also love a bit of the more upbeat Foo Fighters to keep the blood pumping too. Depends on the mood! :)
  • Hiya I often use Quorn as a filler when I dont want to have meat - Im not vegetarian but was finding I was just getting too full so if Ive had a few red/white meaty days I will go for quorn... or sometimes I will say have one normal sausage and a Quorn sausage. (Tho' think that is just torture lol) I do have a recipe for a…
  • Im probably not being wise, but I've lost over 30lbs in the last 12 months and have only actually been paying attention to the calories, nothing else. Obviously I do try to make sure my diet is balanced so they are not all high fat calories, but I havent found it has held me back at all.
  • apologies, I've misunderstood when I reread yr post... and actually HRM are meant to be good - Ive been reading reviews on Amazon and Argos and some on the livestrong site mentioned above. Lots of bods swear by them, Im still uhmming and arrrring as I just love gadgets so not sure if Im just looking for a new toy or if it…
  • Well you need to exercises at certain levels to achieve different things. Im just trying to figure this out too. I have the HRM app on the Iphone which tells you a bit about what zones - Warm up is apparently - 50-60% (125-135bpm) Fat burning 60-70% (135-145 bpm) Cardio is 70-80% (145-155bpm) Extreme (155-165bpm) These…
  • Yes, I have just got this, seems ok - not personally checked it out for accuracy but its attracting rave reviews which hopefully is a good indicator - wasn't expensive either. Only thing is it can be fiddly if you are on the move as you need to place your finger on the LED light for the reading. Also, if you use your…
  • You can do it :) & you are in the right place here MFP is a brilliant and positive community. Calorie logging is a bore at first but it shows up where you may be going wrong/right and is well worth trying to continue with it. I find it very hard at times to not eat so the 33lbs I have lost has been over a year whereas if I…
  • Hi The first version doesn't have calorie logging in it, but the 2nd one does.. iI think (Just Dance 2). When I use the first one, I log how many mins I did of actual dancing and there is "dancing" on the cardio exercise list. Not 100% if this is accurate, but gives you an idea :)
  • Well Done! Good start :D Stick with it and you will get to your goal! I managed to lost 2 of my 3 stone goal between Feb-Oct 2010 through tracking the calories on MFP and upping the exercise to 2-3 times per week :) It really DOES work if you stay positive and dont fret about the goal, take it in small chunks and never be…
  • Hi I was using an iPhone app and it never had half the foods I needed so I googled the item I wanted and >ping< this site was top of the list. I saw it had an iPhone app of its own so ditched the other app and have jumped on board MFP - thats was just under 2 weeks and I've not looked back, its great and everyone is really…
  • Im doing a similar program called "get running" I've not really noticed much weight-loss, but 4 weeks into the program and I can now run for upto 5 mins intervals, whereas at the start I couldnt manage 1minute without wishing for death! I feel much more happier + healthier for trying to achieve fitness and this in turn is…
  • Hi! I'm new on here and would love to make some friends too. Last Oct I decided I wanted to lose weight. nothing happened. New year passes and I'm still in denial, no progress - but - no gain, so small success maybe. I've been trying to track my weightloss only since the start of Feb, which was really a rather lack lustre…
