I don't think it's necessarily about calories but what you eat. Someone could eat 3000 calories of pure junk and be starving themselves of nutrient-dense food. Someone eating 1000 calories could be eating very balanced and getting protein/carbs/healthy fat. It depends on height, activity, and weight loss goals, but I…

Oh, PS - I'll be 35 in May, so not too behind you in age. I also wanted to encourage you to avoid heavy duty cardio and consider weights. I personally don't do heavy stuff. I stick to 10lbs and under. Maybe take some dance classes and body pump. Or Jillian Michaels stuff (she does interval as well). Running isn't…

I'm just an inch taller than you, and I start to thin out around 135. For the longest damn while, it seemed like I'd never dip below 150. But I gave it time and it happened, and I've kept it off for roughly 7 years (I weigh 135 and have gone as low as 128). Given your current weight, you're probably only going to lose…

Agreed...1200 can be an ample amount of food if you're eating a lot of veggies, some fruits, leans proteins, and avoiding processed food.

Can't decide what's worse...the workout or the music. "Now it's your turn!!" Lol...

I'm going to have to disagree that the low-carb is over-hyped. Or shall I say, low-grain. There's a lot of research out there that points to otherwise. If you look at all your fit Hollywood people, they all generally say the same thing: they follow a protein-rich, vegetable-rich, low to no grain diet. I have never been an…

If you are seeing success with 1200 calories, then follow that until you plateau. Every body is different. And you really can get a lot of nutrients from that number, depending on the foods you choose. If you eat clean and cut down on grains, it's a healthy amount of food. When you plateau, just change up your workout, add…

Bad for your health?? Interesting. Look at the Chinese versus The Japanese - Japanese live the longest & are the healthiest. Why? Chinese eat grains and veggies. Japanese eat veggies, soy, and fish. Chinese = low protein, which isn't good.

I'd recommend cutting out the grain-y carbs - i.e. no more English Muffins and brown rice. You can always add them back in once you get to your desired weight. Note: you are still getting carbs via vegetables, fruits, beans, etc. But those grains can really hold us back. Also, be patient. Sometimes it takes longer. Are you…

Can you eat soy? Consider reading The Soy Zone, which is the Zone diet for vegetarians. It basically describes how you need to be eating protein-rich soy at each meal (or dairy) -roughly 20-25 grams of protein. Vegetarians just don't get a lot of protein. I know many resent hearing that, but I often don't run across a lot…

How long have you been following that regimen?

I'm 5'6 and weigh 140 pounds, size 6. My goal weight = 125, size 4/2 At my heaviest I weighed 168 and size 12. I would describe myself as a more athletic build- broad shoulders, smaller breasts (34 B-Cup) solid legs, slightly curvy between hips and natural waist. Remember, 1 pound of muscle takes up more space than fat, so…

I did Tracy Anderson's Metamorphosis to shape up for my wedding. I made it to level 8 (about 87 days) and lost one size plus seven pounds. I constantly felt sore - and not in a good way. It did make my arms look incredible and overall I looked much leaner. Friends thought I had dropped more weight than I really did (but in…

I am a medium frame with larger shoulders/athletic build. I currently weigh 142 and definitely need to lose a solid 10-12 pounds of fat. . I am small breasted (34 B), so when I did get down to 135, I was happy, but still about 5 (Maybe even ten pounds) from being where I wanted. It depends on how lean you want to get and…
