  • I always retain a lot of water after working a night shift. It would be the most accurate to weigh yourself after a couple of days off after waking up when your sleep is more normalized and you havent been on your feet all day.
  • Cheat meals really only worked for me once I got more strict about what I was eating. When I was eating some more processed foods it would stall me out as well. Not sure what your diet or current goal is though.
  • I have a cheat meal once per week. That was today for me. But my diet is generally pretty good the rest of the week, so instead of incorporating "cheats" throughout my day I try to just do one meal per week thats pretty terrible. I have sugar addiction issues so putting them into my daily allotment doesnt work for me (I…
  • ....dude. stahp. no way would i ever eat 1400 cals. In fact, today I ate 2800...lol...
  • I can understand how hunger can be painful to someone who isn't used to feeling that way. I don't feel pain when I'm hungry, but that doesn't mean I haven't before, and it could be real to someone who is just starting...the feeling can be uncomfortable. I really didn't take her as saying shes in physical pain, I took that…
  • I cut on a time frame because I do a shorter cut with a little higher deficit. My body doesn't like being in a deficit for more than about 3 months (even if its only by about 200 cals) I in no way meant for it to sound like I'm "miserable". I'm not. I even stated before If I feel "sick hungry" or crappy I will eat. I was…
  • I bulk at 2500 cals and I cut at 1600-1800. I deal with hunger because i'm cutting. I'm not doing a body recomposition...I don't do a "mild" deficit because I'm aiming for a certain physique within a certain time period. Generally I would agree that for a "lifestyle change" the deficit should be smaller, but a…
  • Wow... some of you need to get off of your pedestal. Everyone has different goals. Everyone's body reacts different to different food combinations. You really have to find what works for you. For me, I'm past the point of "healthy weight" and I'm really trying to lean out as much as possible before summer. So yes I DO have…
  • I take 2 CLA with each meal (up to 3x daily), 2 fish oil with breakfast, 2 glucosamine and Chondritin with breakfast (but I play roller derby and it's a vitamin for joint health), a multivitamin and 2 probiotics with lunch (I'm on an antibiotic for skin clearing so I take a higher strength probiotic than normal), and…
  • Actually some supplements do help with fat loss and muscle retention while in a deficit. One of those being CLA. Combined with the right diet and fitness routine thermogenics DO work. Most people just don't know how to use them right. I don't use a thermogenic anymore, just CLA. Never used that particular drug though.
  • And the hunger thing I totally understand. Sometimes you are GOING to be hungry. It's knowing the difference between hunger you can "fend off" and the kind that makes you nauseous. If I start to feel sick I'll eat even if it's over cals for the day. My body responds better. Sometimes if you have an extra hard work-out your…
  • I love the tea thing! I'm currently cutting so the suck is real...and I'm embracing it. I also have a husband whose eating habits and workout habits are literally the exact opposite of mine. I find inner strength in myself by watching motivational videos on YouTube when it gets too hard. And more recently my husband has…
  • Actually I was told 6 weeks...but I know some physicians are different
  • Wait. WHAT?! You can't work out a week after having a baby!! You have to wait AT LEAST A MONTH! Of course you aren't going to lose weight! Your hormones are still all over the place and your body is still healing!
  • I'm going to try to be less negative then everyone else here...but I'm going to say that just because you aren't restricting "calories" does not mean you aren't restricting. Veganism is the most hardcore form of restriction I've ever seen. If you don't want to hurt animals, okay fine...but you seriously better be finding…
  • I do a cheat meal once a week if I FEEL I need it. Sometimes you mentally need a break. But I don't force it.
  • I lost 90lbs and I had a lot of excess skin and a severe muscle separation in my abdomen which is why I did it. I would never have surgery to get rid of fat. I only did it because I couldn't change it on my own, and I was already really healthy. No regrets :)
  • First of all, I LOVE this thread. Anyway...hmmm...what dirty secrets do I have... i stopped logging my food on here because I was getting so compulsive that I started having nightmares that I forgot to track something. Doing a lot better now. Oh and here's a bigger one, I had a tummy almost 3 years ago and got a tattoo…
  • It's not *really* genetics...you have to build up the muscle before you shed the fat. Anyone can have abs if if they build up the muscle in that area and then she'd the fat on top. It's still a muscle. All muscles have the ability to grow. Some will have different rates of growth, but it's always possible. I'm 5'7 and I…
  • I'm married to that person. You can't expect him to give you that support. You need to keep saying why it matters to you, and explain that healthy food makes you feel good about yourself, etc. You need to find the courage in yourself to tell him you don't want the foods he brings you, and eventually he will stop and start…
  • You don't have to keep decreasing your calories to lose weight. I used to eat 1500 calories to lose weight and now I eat 2200-2500 to lose it. I've increased it slowly over-time. I lost 90lbs from pregnancy and then upped my cals slowly. I expected to start gaining weight but I actually kept losing it. As long as I pound…
  • I take a natural pre-workout. It's the ONLY thing that gives me pep to go! I find if I'm tired and I just take it, I'll be more motivated in 15 minutes to go. I take Amino Energy.
  • Scales are crap. Really anything to me except the little pod thing is crap...My scale says 24% body fat...then I got one done by a trainer once that said 18%...and then I got one done on another weird gadget that said 15%...and then the body-pod said 21% which I most believe.
  • I eat out a lot too. My husband LOVES to eat out. You can eat decent at almost ANY fast food or sit down restaurant. Always order a veg as a side. If you get two sides you can either do sweet potato or another vegetable. Steaks and sirloins are almost ALWAYS safe and usually have less sauces on them to worry about than…
  • No problemo! Thanks for posting. :)
  • Jahuntleu No that is something I haven't tried. If I were to try it what percentage of carbs would I be looking at for each day? And how would I split the other 2 macros?
  • I'm aware you can't spot reduce. I was stating the areas I wanted to reduce in general. Meaning I was stating what I wanted to achieve with "cutting"
