Yes. Lost and kept it off for 3 years so far without setting foot in a gym. Walk, bike, run, swim, exercise cycle at home on lazy/rainy days. Maybe some pushups and situps if I'm feeling adventurous, lol.

Final weekday bump since I kinda posted this on a Friday afternoon! Hope people wont mind. As an aside, and something I forgot to put in my original post - if you use MFP and it works for you, tell your doctor about it! Mine has been recommending MFP as a weight loss/fitness tool to other patients since I told him about it.

Just got back to see all the thoughtful replies again. Thanks for the kind words, all. I don't post here to get them, only to inspire others like I was inspired here back in the day - but is sure is nice to read the compliments, anyway. As an aside, may I recommend a rapid 10lb weight loss plan that I've put into action…

Up until about a month ago I was logging food daily. I still try to most days, I don't freak out if I miss it like I used to, but, 2 years in, I basically know what I should and should not be eating now. The journal is just a visual helper with that. I will say the biggest thing, that most people DO NOT want to hear, is…

Saw this thread had been bumped over the weekend, so a small update. I went over 100lbs, in fact, I'm holding steady at 106lbs lost and have been since around mid April/early May. My goal was to get down to 185, but honestly, I'm pretty happy these days at 194/195. I've found it's easy for me to maintain at this weight…

Great post  :smokin:

Today, the first digit of my weight is a 1. I may gain that 1 lb back tomorrow going out for Italian for a double birthday celebration (mine and my SO), but for today at least, I'm in ONEderland! Considering when I started my weight began with a 3 - couldn't be more thrilled. :drinker:  Off to jog now! (in 30…

Someone at work microwaves fish every day around lunch time...works like a charm for me ;)

Rockville here, MoCo born and bred.

Being able to play soccer again. I've already started jogging a mile most nights to try and get back into decent cardio shape as I approach closer to my goal. Shooting to play in a fall league.

Great job, I know exactly how hard it is and the kind of dedication it takes to reach the 100lbs lost mark! Well done.

Here is me, circa this exact time last year (301lbs, give or take 5-10lbs) Me, modeling the same shirt in the pictures above a few weeks ago at 203lbs (now at 200 or 199!) Could probably fit two of me in there now. A side profile Front view Old shorts The amazing disappearing double chin I posted these in my own thread…

Every time I think this thread is dead, someone bumps it! Thanks to everyone who has posted since last time I said thanks. 10,000 views is kind of blowing my mind. As of yesterday morning, I was at an even 200lbs, puts me at 101lbs lost total now... next week the first digit of my weight will start with a 1 (assuming I…

Last spring: Couple of weeks ago, same shirt :)

Posted on your profile, but way to go! Keep it up and congrats on the NSV...great to push yourself.

Just having women other than my SO flirt or hit on me strikes me as very weird! And still not used to it, to be honest. Shows you how shallow people can be in some ways though - I feel like I was always a great person on the inside that not a lot of people would get to know because I was so overweight.
-
You guys are too much...making me blush! Thanks all for the kudos. Hoping when I weigh in on Monday I'll be right at 200 or even 199lbs!
-
Thanks all! Weighed in this morning, down 2 more lbs. One or two more weeks until the first digit of my weight is a 1 :)

Except for the occasional diet cola with rum or whiskey when I went out, I gave up both diet and regular soda. I don't even miss it at all anymore, to be honest. Also have to highly recommend Truvia for coffee drinkers...tastes better than any of the other substitute sweeteners. Little bit of truvia and skim milk in the…

I did and still do have it at 2lbs per week, to create the bigger deficit, even if I don't always lose 2 per week. The insane thing is the first few weeks I lost way more than that (I think ~8lbs in the first week). I think my body was just reacting from the extreme lifestyle change though, because it settled into 1-3lbs a…

Non-scale victory. And congrats to the OP on the NSV!

Thank you everyone who replied overnight, and the kind compliments too! Kind of overwhelmed! So many new friend requests and this thread has almost 5k views. Glad my struggle could be useful to others...keep on working MFP people :)

I'm from Maryland (the DC suburbs, though). My uncle called me the name as a kid, derived from the famous Baltimore beer, of course. :-0

I think when I first started, it was letting me have up to 2000 calories a day without even working out...I can't really remember, to be quite honest. It was more than enough. I usually take in 1200-1500 now depending on the day, what exercise I did, etc. My daily limit without exercise is 1430 right now according to MFP.

I have 3. I want more. My artist is Bill, owner/co founder of the Baltimore Tattoo Museum. Have a red/black Gonzo fist on my right leg, DC flag on my right leg, and one on my back left shoulder. I want a Radiohead related one and one for my son. Considering the Maryland flag, too.

Love FCB too! Going on a pilgrimage to the Camp Nou later this year.

The beard stays, the wardrobe thing, I'm down with when I hit my goal weight :D

Fantastic stuff!

Thank you again to everyone. Some unintended consequences of the diet: I have 0 clothes that fit me. To a guy, it's an annoyance... I'm sure the ladies here would appreciate the excuse to potentially buy an entire new wardrobe, LOL. ;) I'm holding off on buying a lot of new clothes until I reach my goal, but it does suck…

Usually I don't, unless I'm especially hungry for some reason. I haven't found that I felt hungrier without them for the most part though, just listen to your body.
