  • I usually do my weekly shop in Tesco or Sainsbury but I have to say that if i'm having trouble finding anything Waitrose saves the day. They seem to have everything there and although quite pricey the quality and selection is definitely spot on.
  • Roast Turkey & trimmings all the way! - pigs in blankets, stuffing, parsnips, brussel sprouts, carrots, roast potatoes, bread sauce, cranberry sauce & gravy :-) This would usually be followed by Christmas pudding & cake which my husband loves. I'm not a fan though so we'll also be making an apple, rhubarb & raspberry…
  • Basement Jaxx - Jump n' Shout Soul Central - Strings of Life Sticky feat Miss Dynamite - Booo!
  • Glad you enjoyed it. I love bodypump and managed to get my husband to come with me and he's on it now too. A lot of the classes are just full of women which is why he was a little worried at first but this one is a mixed group.
  • Thanks for the advice. I think i may just go with the cardio strength training otherwise i may end up over eating! I'm 5ft 2 and 115.5 so i guess 157 it is! Gutted - i was well up for some more food this evening!
  • I managed to lose 1lb per week when i upped my calories to 1370 on here which for me MFP said i needed to lose 0.5 per week. I did this for about 4 weeks or so. I wasn't exercising at the time other than a few 20 minute walks here or there so didn't have exercise calories to eat on top. I definitely recommend it especially…
  • does this come out gooey in the middle?
  • Thanks, these all sound lovely! I have a can of Libby's and love my peanut butter too so the brownie one is really tempting :-)
  • Cheers :-) I'll see how i get on tomorrow and will ask the instructor about the level of intensity. Spinning on MFP gives a way lower calorie burn than the classes i've been to. They work you hard and I'm sweating my head off by the time i finish so ii've been logging it as stationary bike vigorous effort which i think is…
  • Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to stick with my scales!
  • It's all about moderation for me. I know that if i cut treats out completely then the day i have one it'll end in a binge. I allow myself snacks everyday. I do have days where i may go over, but on the whole i try to stick to my daily allowance and i've been losing consistently since i started.
  • Yes that is too high IMO. They only give you a small portion of chips & whoever has calculated it om MFP has included chips too so effectively you're having 2 portions of chips by doubling the quantity. I think you're looking at about 700 for mussels because they've got some cream in & I got Belgian fries for 237 then…
  • It's a tricky one because some people just don't want to hear that they're eating too little and some are looking for a quick fix. What does annoy me is all the people cheering those on who have only eaten around 700 calories. What's with all the 'WTG, Great Job, diary looks great' Why come out with this utter nonsense…
  • I usually stick to the tandoori chicken which is dry and go for plain rice rather than the overly oily ones. Tarka DaI (lentil dish) is good too and I do like my naan bread so would share one, but high in cals. Chapati is always a good option as low in cals (think 60 cals each) I'm craving curry now! Enjoy!
  • I'm actually making this for dinner this evening and my favourite salmon recipe: RECIPE 400 gr green beans 200 gr cherry tomatoes 1 to 2 handfuls black olives 1 teaspoon olive oil Capers Salt and freshly ground black pepper 2 x 200 gram salmon fillet steak 1/2 lemon 12 anchovy fillets Preheat the oven and a roasting tray…
  • Carrot & Swede mash - good alternative to mashed potato :-)
  • I like making cream of courgette (zuchini) soup which is lovely and healthy. I usually fry the onion and then add courgette, stock and seasoning to taste. You can add some potato too if you like it thicker. Then I use a hand blender straight in the pot to puree it. You can just alter it to your liking and can add a little…
  • Right I've been checking and have found out that Waitrose sometimes stocks it. Have seen it on sale on amazon too: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Libbys-100%25-Pure-Pumpkin-425g/dp/B003WWLJVC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1315746326&sr=8-1 and here,…
  • This sounds lovely but just don't know if we can get canned pumpkin in the UK? I can't say that i've ever seen it but i'm going to make it my mission to find out. Too many threads with delicious pumpkin based recipes on here at the moment! Thanks
  • I love my Weight Watchers digital scales and you can switch between Lbs & Kg. Mum has Salter digital ones and very happy with them too.
  • I guess it depends how many cals you've got left. Yoghurts are good or i've recently discovered Hartley's low calorie jelly pots which are under 10 cals each.
  • I usually go with the uncooked weight but some packets will give you the calorie content for both cooked and uncooked so that helps :-)
  • I have these days a lot! I find miso soup is a god send and at only around 17 calories it's a winner imo :-)
