Does anyone know how many calories there would be in a kilo pot of mussels roughly?

MFP is giving me 1300 cals for a kilo of mussels and a bowl of chips! (At Belgos Belgian restaurants - London)

Sure it has a creamy sauce, but 1300 seems vastly over-estimated??

I am going to log it as that anyway- but am going there for a meal tonight and have been practically starving all day in saving myself for it!

    I suspect you're looking at 500kc for the chips which leaves 800kc for the mussles. There's about 500kc in Moules in butter and white wine and then add a generous dollop of double cream and bingo that would be your 300kc.

    But it's just a guesstimate :smile:

    Yes that is too high IMO. They only give you a small portion of chips & whoever has calculated it om MFP has included chips too so effectively you're having 2 portions of chips by doubling the quantity.

    I think you're looking at about 700 for mussels because they've got some cream in & I got Belgian fries for 237 then added 90cals for Mayo pot.
