  • I definitely slack on journaling on weekends. I added you!!
  • First couple of weeks I would always drop a ton (alot of it's water weight too). But after the first couple of weeks, it would level off to 1-2 lbs which is true fat loss. I always love the first few weeks!! :) Congrats!!
  • Holy crap....1000 calories a DAY?? I'd pass out!!!
  • I intend to do surgery when I'm down to my goal. Between being overweight and having 2 large children (one by c-section). I know that I'll never get rid of the "baby apron" w/out chopping it off!!!
  • Mine is a Taylor too. It's fine but I have to be sure to reset it if it's moved at all. I make a habit of resetting it before I get on it each time so I know it's accurate. :)
  • For me, I lost about 15 lbs during the post op phase. That was during the first 3 weeks. I didn't lose or gain during weeks 4 -5 when the solids are introduced back in but I expected that with my body adjusting back to real food. (my hospital has a 5 week post-op diet but that varies from surgeon to surgeon). My weight…
  • adjustments (or Fills as they are often called) are a piece of cake. A needle goes into the port in your tummy and they inject it with saline solution which goes up the tube to your band. A 2 second pin prick and you're good to go!! As far as how fast you feel restriction, what foods you'll tolerate, etc....it's VERY…
  • I've lost 43 lbs......I've lost the equivalent of my 5 year old daughter. I can now pick her up and realize that I was carrying around that weight 24/7 only 6 months ago!!! I'm actually quite amazed at how I did that because she's freakin' heavy!! LOL
  • Oh and for me - the only foods on my "no" list are pasta, rice and lobster. So far I have no problem eating bread. But I'd almost rather trade that to get my pasta back. LOL. I've only had a few of painful stuck episodes with some of the unpleasant effects that go along with them (which I'm sure they've told you about).…
  • I had the band in January. It's definitely a longer process but for me I was willing to be patient to have a less invasive procedure. I love it. I'm just now feeling good restriction. Not ideal. I think I have another fill or two to go. But it definitely reminds me that it's there. One thing that they didn't stress to…
  • That's funny - I was just wondering this today. Good to know that it's been close for many of you!!! It's definitely a great motivator. I look at that number and think "OMG, to actually see that on a scale would just about make my year!"
  • Thanks everyone. I definitely could workout during my lunch at work. My problem - I'm a sweater. So how do I finish the second half of the day feeling like a smell like a gym locker?? Every morning I set my alarm but that snooze button gets the better of me. :) So right now I'm working out at about 9pm each night. I get…
  • I can't wait too see onederland. But my end goal is only a guestimate. It's been so long since I've been down to that small of a size that I feel like I'll know what a healthy weight for me is when I get there. I don't want to say 150 only to discover that it's just not a realistic goal for me that I'll never get to. I…
  • Low-fat cheese omelet and some sliced strawberries.
  • I should start by saing that I am a banded patient (WLS), protein is a staple in my diet but I'm under doctors orders. That being said, I go WAY over MFP's recommendations. I average 80-90 grams a day. Doctor's orders are 60-90.
