  • I would love some more active friends!! I've been using MyFitnessPal on and off since 2011... I never achieved any of the goals I set for myself, had another kid and gained even more weight! Would love a couple goal oriented, active friends!
  • If I know I'm going to come in really low on calories, I'll eat a handful of mixed nuts. Good fats and fairly high in calories. They're also not filling at all... At least not for me. I have a really tough time eating enough calories too. I run into this problem frequently though and have started in on nuts. Another one…
  • I live by this too. I started with 5's for everything and have had to move to 7 1/2 and 10 for some exercises. You need to make sure you are lifting enough to challenge yourself. And like its stated above, the last three need to be tough but you need to make sure you still have good form. Also - in order to "bulk" you…
  • Its actually good going over your calories on occasion. There's a diet that suggests it (zig zag diet). I try not to worry about it... Heck, I was over by a good 400 yesterday. I'm sure it was more! But that steak was so darn good! And the warm fresh roll with sweet butter... I'm not passing up a good birthday dinner!! LOL…
  • I hit my quitting point that I usually do when I start working out and watching what I eat two days ago. And you know what I did this time? I didn't quit! I pushed through! And I'm so happy I did!! I'll keep ya motivated girly! Go ahead and add me if you'd like!!
  • I suppose it depends on the amount of cardio you're doing. If you're not working out, you're not burning fat. It also depends where your fat is stored. I don't know where mine is and I don't know where I lost it, but I lost it none the less! I prefer taking my waist and hip measurements over looking at my weight. I've…
  • I use Wii Fit more for my off days than anything. Its not enough of a challenge for me anymore. It was great to start with but I need more now. It does offer some really good strength and yoga exercises. And if you use the balance exercises properly, you can start strengthening your core.
  • Depending on what I did, I log it under aerobics, calisthenics, weight training, or circuit training. Its just all depends what I did. Sometimes I have to "split the video" between two categories.
  • I've heard of copper and magnetic bracelets that are supposed to help with arthritis... And I know some knee braces have magnets in them for arthritic knees... But beyond that, I don't know if they actually WORK. The only way you're going to up your energy is by eating right... Save your $5!!
  • I'm a SAHM to two also! 4 months and 2 years! They're a workout all by themselves!! LOL. I have a really tough time most days fittings in workouts too. Sometimes it doesn't happen until AFTER my hubby gets home from work... Add me!! We can figure this out together!!
  • I've used two different ab machines: one for crunches and one for obliques. I liked using both of them. I only have access to the crunches now, but oh well. Anything on a Swiss ball will do wonders also. You can also add weight to regular crunches by simply holding a weight while you do your crunches. Adding a little more…
  • It also helps to bump the topic back to the top of the Most Recent list. I used to snack on my son's Gerger Graduates anything! I think I consumed more of those things than he did! My husband thought I was crazy... He claimed they were too bland. I thought they were pretty darn tasty though! I might have to check out these…
  • I try not to eat anything after 11 at night. My husband usually gets home around 6ish but I don't like eating a big meal that late so I'll have my dinner around 4 and eat something light when he gets home and then something later before we go to bed. I usually do yogurt and nuts. I just stay away from sugary stuff.
  • I have been doing SOOO much research the last week into weightlifting and the different minerals you use while you're working out. I've still yet to find a good source of potassium though since bananas are an absolute NO for me! LOL. I absolutely despise everything about bananas... Even their yellow peels are horribly…
  • Enter it under cardio workouts as weight lifting. It'll bring up the right heading.
  • I'm working on losing a couple more pounds from my most recent pregnancy. I know how tough it is finding time to get in a workout! My little one is four months old now. Feel free to add if you'd like!
  • Hey there! I've only been at this a solid few weeks so far but am already seeing excellent results. Once I actually decided to get my butt in gear, I started doing some research. I'm always posting links to articles about the things your body needs and how to get the most out of your meals, snacks, and workouts. You can…
  • We have a typical grocery store here and I've found it in two places: with refrigerated salad dressings (near bagged lettuce) and with specialty cheeses and sausages. Best thing to do is ASK. I discovered it can be in several different locations in our store. Check the deli counter too. Ask if they make any fresh hummus.

  • I forgot about Xanga! I cancelled my Xanga and MySpace EONS ago!! Those who post crap like that get silenced. There are A LOT of things that don't belong on Facebook...
  • I LOVE hummus!! I dip ANY kind of raw vegetable in it, put it on fresh pita bread, put it on crackers with cheese, put it on sandwiches, put it on burgers... By the way, did I mention I LOVE this stuff?! LOL. Where ever I would use mayo or ranch dressing, I replace it with hummus. I tried making it myself ONCE but I don't…

  • You could have strained a muscle. You could just step back a day or two and see if stretching helps it out. If it doesn't improve or seems to get worse, I'd check with your doctor. Especially if you've done a similar workout in the past and not had this result.
  • When is the pain present, and does it go away? If it goes away after you're done working out, it could just be a cramp. I would give your doctor a call if its got you doubled over in pain or if it hurts inside normal daily activity.
  • Bigger muscles = more weight loss. This is why I started weight training the same week I started cardio and watching calories. I was able to get my hands on a couple P90X videos and it helps when I have something to follow. I also do a class at the community fitness center here and will go in the gym immediately following…
  • Excellent article. Started in on most of these at the beginning. Its quite reassuring seeing that I'm doing things right...
  • I'm sitting in the same boat wondering the same thing... Because its covering up my gorgeous forming abs!! I want to see them!!
  • 100% agree with barbarella. Its tough getting in the fresh fruits and vegetables too though. Prime example here! LOL!! I always keep cut vegetables and a fruit "salad" in the refrigerator. Once a week I stock up on fresh produce and as SOON as I get home, I wash it all, peel and cut if need be so that its ready to eat. I…
  • Thanks a bunch! This begins tomorrow!!
