The neighbor of my parents has a very VERY similar story. She actually had complications / nerve damage from diabetis. Started riding her bike and adjusting her diet and is now much happier and healthier. It took a while esp since she had to be slow and diligent about her dietary modifications given her condition but about…

I find this to be very well written. If allergies is something you suspect you might want to get tested to make sure. It might help you pin point other issues and ensure that you make the best choices for yourself. Allergies are not healthy to mess with. Even if you don't go into anaphylaxis they can create damage over…

I was just thinking of you this am. Do you use hair spray? I noticed that when I increased my workouts I increased how often I used hair spray (i.e. after the work outs). It was that that triggered my breakouts esp on my shoulders with the mist settling on my shoulders after the shower. (It also caused me to develop a…

There are several factors that could influence this: - If your skin is not used to sweating as much (i.e. you added a good bit of exercise to it.) it will take time to adjust. - Depending on what skin care routine you use... it might not be adequate to handle skin that now behaves... differently. Your moisturizer might…

I do a program (Body for Life - you can google it and go to the exercise tool section) which is awesome and really provides some good structure. Weights are 3 times a week and only take 40-45 min (dep on whether you do upper or lower body). The intervals are intense and breaks are minimal. The important point: Plan ahead.…

Have you recalculated your TDEE since you have lost all that weight? The TDEE is partially based upon your current weight. Your weight goes down, your TDEE goes down. Usually it is recommended to recal every I think 10 lbs. It might be time to recal your and adjust your intake accordingly. Good luck!

"She [me] actually looks really pretty from a bit of a distance." "Thank GOD he (my 2 minute old son) doesn't have your nose!" (The doc and nurses had the decency to totally turn their backs as their jaws dropped and a "cricket-chirping" silence ensued. I'd almost call that "Testing Darwinism".)

Warm drinks have really worked for me. I used to drink green tea with some cinnamon and initially a little honey. Later I left out the honey now I don't really "need" it anymore. I think my hunger was a conditioning of being used to snacking. It took about 2-3 weeks of being consistent to change my habit. Now obviously…

My sister had severe anxiety issues. She was told to get herself around horses. She "shared a horse, being responsible for it 2-3 times a week. That commitment as well as just the physical contact with the animal did wonders for her. Still amazed about that.

I like and that's what I go by. Personally I have one whenever I get home. I don't rush but it just feels good to get a big glass of cold yummi shake into me after a tough work out. But then again I might have just conditioned myself (Pavlov's dog and such). I know some friends get indigestion and just can't stomach a…

Yes and in the reverse... I have gained 25lbs and still fit into the same pair of jeans... tight... very tight... but making it work..... So I guess I would have to lose about 30lbs to go down a size. Just depends on how you carry it, "which" weight you lose (muscle vs. fat vs. water), and also how the pants are cut,…

What she says! I usually make sure I add at least a couple egg whites (easy to pour in the liquid egg whites pre-packaged) or egg whites and a whole egg (loooove egg drop soup) to it to balance the carb shock (esp since I am borederline hypogycemic) and I also use only about 3/4 of the spice pack unless I add a lot of…

Wow guys... these are awesome responses!!!! I love the details! Wetcoaster I really appreciate all the background and scientific info. Thank you for the input on the HRM. Do you think it is worth getting one? Do you use one? If so can you recommend one? My trend has def been sort of down over a looong time with a very very small slope.... until these last few days. I am just really curious what so suddenly happened to my body. I have made adjustments and…

Totally confused: So 3 days ago I was at 168... which is where I had been lingering for months and months. The lowest I was over the last 5 or so months was 166.8. Suddenly... I post this threat.... and my weight drops about 2lbs a day....... couple days in a row.... I was delighted over the 164lbs I saw on the scale…
