Well I would have a general direction in mind...as I do with this. I'm one that needs alot of hand holding...LOL
-
Good to know...I will remember that!

I tried the 30 day shred but found it was too hard on my knees. It was recommended by my PT that I stop. I have given thought to doing it again but leaving out the jumping jacks. Jump rope and squats didn't seem to bother my knees.

Thanks everyone!! I have been walking for exercise for over a year now. I walk anywhere between 3-4 miles per day and a pace of 3.5 - 4.2. I plan on asking for "schooling" at the gym tomorrow.
-
Yes that number includes exercise.

I just joined a small gym at work last week. I played around with a few machines last week including chest press, leg press and leg extenstion. I'm unsure of the weight settings though. I don't want to set the weight too high, but I don't want to waste my time either. Unfortunately they don't offer personal…

Thanks for the responses. I read the link and my head was spinning...LOL!! Walked away and then read it again. Followed along and it makes more sense now. I'm thinking I should eat 2027 calories a day...period. This number seems a bit high but I'll try it and see what happens. It really is hard to switch gears from losing…

I lost the majority of my weight without exercise. It came off very slow. Funny thing though...I started walking every day and increased my calories. The weight then seemed to melt off.

Sounds like you might not be eating enough. You have to eat to lose weight. You don't want your body to go in to starvation mode.

Slow and steady wins the race! Remember although it may seem like it, we didn't gain weight over night. Unfortunately it is harder to lose than it is to gain. To expect large losses every week is setting yourself up for failure. Just my opinion. Good luck to you!

Kudos to you for realizing that you are ready! If I could make one suggestion....break your 140-150 lbs to lose into smaller incraments. Say 10 lbs at a time. Good luck to you and feel free to add me.

journaling is key!! It really opens your eyes to what you eat.
-
Oh and make sure you take before/after pics and measurements.
-
I love it but have to modify it because of my knees :( All you need are some hand weights and a mat if working out on a hard surface.
-
First of all you need to get new shoes!! Make sure they are the right size as well. I recently found out that I have been wearing the wrong size shoes for YEARS! I was having pain in the balls of my feet and my toes would tingle when I got to about the 2 mile mark. I got the right shoes and have no problem now. Good luck!!

Of course!! No restrictions on food allowed for me. If I restrict I binge. This is a lifestyle and I can't do without sweets for the rest of my life!
-
That's fantastic!! It took me 19 years to lose my baby weight...LOL!! I was so unmotivated then.

Wow...so I'm not alone in this WW compared to MFP thing.

funny girl!!

I have to say that I love WW. I have been very successful with it and am a free lifetime member. On the other hand I can say that WW doesn't work for everyone. Especially since the new Points Plus. My daily points allowance went from 18 to 29 with the new and improved plan. I gave it an honest 1 month and found it just…

Welcome to life! We are always tempted and I've found no way around it. Your determination to lose weight will help you with that temptation. Nothing should be off limits. Portion control is key. Good luck and you can do this.

Thanks for sharing!! Welcome and good luck on your journey. Feel free to add me.

Hello and welcome! Feel free to add me if you'd like.

Hello and Welcome! I just joined this site last week. I am a successfull lifetime WW member. Thought it would be interesting to track calories for what I eat. I hope you find what you need here. It seems to be a great site!
-
Hello and Welcome! I am fairly new as well. Feel free to add me.

There is alot of tweaking done with the new plan. My daily points went from 18 to 29. I was 5-6 points short every day and felt like I had to force myself to eat. Now I just focus on the guidelines.

Oh I totally agree about the fruit. Many people doubled or tripled their daily fruit intake just because it is "free" and couldn't understand why the gained. I gave the new plan 1 month and it just wasn't working for me. Now I kind of do my own thing but try to follow the Simply Filling Technique.

during the week at work I have oatmeal with a banana cut up in it. On the weekend I like scrambled eggs w/ff cheese and some veggies.

Funny you asked this. I just logged my breakfast and lunch and have 0 protien left for the day. How is that possible? I think the protein goals on here are way too low..but who am I...LOL!!
