That is fantastic. 77 days. great!

Me too. I am back to MFP after a long period of stress and emotional eating. I agree that water helps. Also, low calorie snacks, carrots, pickles, like chuckleberry said, and I like celery and cucumber. I slice them up and always have them on hand.

I have a touch of arthritis (hip) , so I am trying 1/2 tsp cinnamon w/ honey before breakfast... I'll keep you posted

All your work paying off! (That happened to me when I tried a pair of pants on this week that a year ago wouldn't fit and they fit! I nearly fainted!)

I'm a "no" on HRT due to family history of cancer---so the risk for me outweighs the benefits. That said, I have muddled along fine without. I'm 57 and have been post menopausal for 10 years. My hot flashes are all but gone (exercise helps). I still have night sweats occasionally. All in all not so bad. But losing weight…

hope your mom's ok, Keri. thinking about you.

i know what you all mean, I love our group! and I agree with Younger, that you can't see the thread of conversations well, you have to go to each separate topic and look at the conversations. Perhaps groups is meant for groups with a whole lot of members. If so, staying small would suit me just fine.

I say the more the merrier! I'm all for opening it up. But I will defer to our group.

First and foremost, KeriA, you are so awesome for monitoring the group and supporting us all. To all the rest of you: keep spreading the good spirit, while I don't have enough time these days to comment as much as I'd like, I appreciate you all and feel fortunate to have you on this journey of self discovery (which is what…

Swimmer, you've inspired me to set November goals too! My mantra: Pay attention! Here are goals: 1. Eating out: just get the salad and forget about all the frou-frou. 2. Be mindful of what goes into my mouth while cooking. 3. Log _everything_, even the slurps and tastes (see #2). 4. Water! 6-8 per day. 5. Weigh everyday.…

I agree that stretching is good. I found a blog online, http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_5/196.shtml Worked for me. and check out the blog called "banana running", the exercises she recommended helped me with another problem: Peroneus Longus Stretch

Hi All, Not posting much, simply due to work and a project I'm working on that is sapping me of all my free time. Please forgive. I will be back after this week is over. I am finding myself in a plateau phase again. I hate this as it makes me feel defeated when the scale doesn't go down, either sits where it is, or goes up…

KeriA: I am sure you look beautiful! I know what you mean about dying your hair. My friends at work joke that dying our hair is the cheapest facelift. Gallows humor about age discrimination... When I retire I'm going grey, or white, or all pink! (only half way kidding). Chuck: woo hoo! dfeldichuk: thinking about you…

Hi All, I keep forgetting to mark this page and spend more time on the news board. Sorry all, back from vacation and just really getting back into the swing of things. I'll friend new members! Thanks KeriA for keeping us on track! My main goal: reduce my blood pressure so as not to have to go on meds. My doc says:…

I don't have gym shyness, but I have a gym 'ick' issues Funny, Gwen! Part of my gym shyness has to do with the fact that lots of people I know (and work with) go there. It is inexpensive so I don't want to go anywhere else.

Ok, I'm jumping in mid-stream. I'm happy to be here! {just a little unclear on how groups work. this is my first one.} I am 56 (although my profile says I'm older, because I made a mistake when I entered my info, and have never edited my profile). I have between 20-40 pounds to lose. I began this journey because my doctor…

keriA: you are awesome!

Do you think it has something to do with the prolonged nature of negative self talk, battling it out with our new reality? I sometimes can "catch" the moment I shift from one to the other. Sometimes I'm so willing to believe the worst in all this mental conversation, that I have to remind my own mind to keep an open mind!…

Hi poetic suture! what a great name. I suture myself with poetry all the time! love it. So here is what I have done, maybe this can work for you: I started out with a couch to 5k program on my phone. then, I realized it was too much too soon. So I started walking, the first couple of weeks were slow going due to pain in my…

do you like nuts? I have been eating almonds, just 5-10 at a time and no more than 25 a day. I'm finding that almonds seem to reduce my sweets craving and reduces my hunger too. wonder if anyone else has that experience,

Hi, I don't have any suggestions, but I'm working the water thing right now. drinking 8 glasses a day no matter what (not counting caffeinated drinks, but counting decaf herbal tea). Feel free to add me as a friend. We can help each other!
