  • I agree on both are best... There is cardio that is done with the resistance of weights which is fantastic... the resistance of weights helps you burn more, since you have to make more of an effort to do cardio with the added resistance of the weights.. Start low and then increase as you improve! Good luck!
  • I can totally relate... I just somehow do... Try to think of your workouts as a routine that you HAVE to do.. like brushing your teeth in the morning.. I make the time right after I drop off my youngest at school.. and under my clothes, I already have my workout clothes on.. so I just get right to it when I get back home.…
  • South Beach diet worked great for me. Then I moved on to Beachbody programs like P90X and some similar and that has been the best ever. I am fit and don't have a problem keeping my way at a consistent number. So, I have found a way of healthy eating and exercise to keep for life. :flowerforyou:
  • I am on the last month of a program so I am doing high protein and very low carb for 30 days. Protein ideas: Ricotta Cheese Greek Yogurt Low Fat Cheese Protein Bars (higher in protein than carbs) Cottage Cheese Egg whites Protein Powder (whey) Which reminds me that I have to stop at the store and get me some cottage cheese…
  • I am not currrently doing P90X, but did it after I had my last baby. Worked wonderful! Toned up very nicely and helped me loose the few extra pounds I needed to loose!! I did about 7 round of P90X and then moved on to other Tony HOrton's programs like P90X Plus, P90X2.
  • Yes, not all but some. I like to cook from scratch as well but some of the seasonings are used are from containers so...
  • I prefer home fitness for convenience and I don't have to pay a gym's fee. I have everything I need at home. I've been working from my house since 2007! So far so good!
  • I do. Only one day a week and its not a whole cheat day, but a "cheat meal." For me its all about self control. If you don't have it, then I wouldn't go there, but it works for me. I've obtained great results. So, if you can do it, do it. IF you can't, then don't.
  • I love P90X!! I've done it a few times!! I got my transformation with this program!!
  • That's funny!! Well, if you look inside my car you will immediately be able to tell that I kids..
  • :grumble: I am so sorry that people can sometimes be so rude and just completely devoid of tact!! (We need a hugging smiley here!!) So sorry dear!! :flowerforyou: I hope you are feeling better. But you did the right thing. This kind of behavior cannot be tolerated. Stepmom1
  • When I go on vacation, I don't deprive myself but I don't go crazy either. I try to choose activities that involve some kind of exercise like walking, hiking, or anything that will keep me moving. It helps a lot!!
  • Yes, you will find different views on coffee. I like it. I've been drinking for years. It works for me! :flowerforyou:
  • Weight yourself the same day at the same time, as soon as you get out of bed. I usually do this on Saturday mornings. That's when I can tell the difference because it is a consistent day and time. Our female bodies fluctuate in weight all the time, so if you choose the same and time, you will get more consistent results. :)
  • I am not too familiar with this but I googled it and some good information came up. It also says that you may notice some weight gain but that it will be temporary. Just keep track of your progress. Here is some info from www.livestrong.com Hydration Levels Hard workouts often lead to a loss of electrolytes and water…
  • I prefer weights and then cardio. But I say, whatever your schedule permits. ☺
  • Make a part of your morning and don't even think about it. Put your workout gear on, and either do an outdoor cardio like jogging/power walking, running or an indoor workout. It will soon become part of your routine and you will do it without even thinking about it. Good luck!! ☺
  • Mm... lets see.. I usually eat the same thing but let me give you some ideas: * Old Fashion Oatmeal : 1/4 cup dry cooked in water with cinnamon, a bit of banana pieces or any fruit you like * 2 egg whites with 1 whole egg * 2 slices of turkey bacon * Almond milk with coffee This is my usual breakfast.. You can sub the…
  • The position of your arm is also different. It faces side ways more than the traditional bicep curl. I do both when I workout. They are part of my routine. I do traditional bicep curls with a barbell, then I do later on concentration curls. You get a different burn also because of the change of arm position.
  • Ditto with the broiled. I always ask them to either broil it or grill it. I love Salmon
  • I haven't done Less Mills Pump but I have done P90X2. I loved X2. I have heard people also say that it was not as hard or not challenging enough, but I found it very challenging, due to the balance challenge involved. I loved the addition of the medicine balls to do the pushups. It gives you a huge burn after you are done.…
  • Well, everytime I go on a cruise, I indulge in "something" everyday. However, I do try to at least go 3 times on that week to the gym. I try doing some weights, or interval cardio with weights. i find it hard to do the treadmill and keep a good balance with the boat moving. But I find it that when I do some type…
  • I workout 6 days a week and take a day off, on Sundays. When I start a new program, I take 1 week off between programs so that my body can rest and get ready for the new program. Those breaks are every 90 days. I do a program for 90 days, then take 1 week off and then start again. Six days a week, on day of rest.
  • I work out at home. I have everything I need so I don't need to go to the gym. I have my own sets of workout DVD's and keep adding to my collection so that I can rotate my program and keep boredom at bay. The best thing it to try workouts that work for you and that appeal to you. So, if you love cardiio, then do workouts…
  • I love eggs: scrambled, pan "fried" , omelet, etc... just bring the eggs!!
  • How about trying to do some pullups? Maybe they will help! ☺

  • Mmm.. I guess it depends on what you like to do. Some people may not get bored with certain workouts and some will but that all depends on what type of workouts you like to do. I love lifting weights so I don't get easily bored with repetitive weight lifting routines. I like: P90X P90X Plus P90X2 Also: I LOVE Cathe…
  • I just love border collies!!
  • Mini Dachshund, Red, long hair.
  • Well, it depends on the phase I am on my exercise. I am right now at a 40% Protein, 40% Carb and 20% Fat,
