Right. I share your pain. I seem to be stuck no matter what I do (scales/ measurements) (plateau?) I keep repeating that if I stop now, the weight will just go back on. I'm trying to think long term - not saying I haven't indulged, but I am putting my foot down. You could take a counting break. What's the worst that could…

That's why I like this forum :D

Thank you, this is what I needed -lots of good advice. Gmar84 I think I'm going to print off your reply and read it daily. Thank you.

Go with the new reading as you will be using this from now on. Adjust your end goal by 2 lb or not when you get there.

I'm all or nothing with puddings as well. At first I cut them all out - it was the only way. Now I'm at the point where I don't want to ruin progress with eating them! I have to lose weight eating my 'old' diet, but am gradually changing it. I eat chocolate most days, within my allowance. The thing is, I won't binge often…

I hadn't realised how motivating it was before now. Great work everyone!

Thank you! And now I've edited the picture. We were walking down a mountain this afternoon and got caught in a sudden thunderstorm. The lightening struck the tower at the top while we were walking down. a newspaper showed the picture of the lightening striking and I've decided that the strike looks like it could represent…

Thank you! I'll look into these. I'm either very active, or not... Those times I am desk bound, I can't really change it. :-)

I would look up body weight exercises and run outdoors when not at the gym. Save the gym for the things you can't to elsewhere (weights?). That might make the most of it.

Sainsburys basics salmon is a favourite. Offcuts and different sizes, but cheap.

This. I was massively shocked by how many calories were in my small amount of cheese. And the butter I put on my bread (although I've gone back to butter now I got other areas under control. The flipside is that I see how diet and exercise is linked. (So while I was exercising before, and thinking I could eat what I wanted…

I've had a bit of a binge weekend and have not been doing well... But then I realised that my 'binging' is much smaller than old ones- yes I've binged, but have consumed fewer calories than I would have once upon a time. Also, it has not led to giving up... Just the realisation that I've set myself back a few days, but in…

Genius idea! I've done similar when starting out to feel how much I needed to lose, but not thought about doing it to log how much I've lost...

Ps I try to add the calories in the morning (I use the website to get the calorie count if I can). So, yesterday morning, i added the pizza (710 calories!) so that I could choose breakfast and lunch taking my tea into account. I also didn't worry about eating it as I knew I had factored it in.

Factor them in. I've eaten out twice this weekend, including dessert and have only gone over by 250 calories (not counting exercise). Not a big deal I the scheme of things. It's the only way I can do it!

My healthy snacks added up to 512 calories last week... I logged them and came in on target at the end of the day. I think that's why I am now starting to lose weight. (I've lost 7 kg so far, but didn't change my ticker, so it won't register until i lose another couple and get back to my previous heaviest weight).

Thank you for the ideas :-) Part of the reason for posting was to stop me from walking straight to the kitchen, but to stop and think about the food I was going to eat.

Yes I am serious :) I don't want to go over as I'm starting again after a bit of a set back and after Christmas. I have also recently upped my calories: MFP put me on 1200, after reading on here, I've upped them, so am more cautious about going over ( I'm short...). Still working out whether hunger is genuine hunger or…

Maybe they are typing the extra 'o' to aid calorie loss ;P I try to fidget more. Run up and downstairs at home, sometime missing a step.

I'm in the uk: sainsburys 'basics' range - all the off cuts/ irregular sized pieces. Not as pretty, but much cheaper. Would never buy the 'proper' stuff. :D

Thank you. These are more adventurous than mine. (Chopped crunchy veg, small mount of tasty cheese, and dressing. Usually with some salmon or chicken).
