  • Vicky, We all react differently and our symptoms and struggles aren't going to be the same. But yes, you can. Here are some tips on how it can/could get easier: * Figure out when you have the most energy, and use this time if you can to include exercise. If you do it moderatly it really helps boost the energy level. For me…
  • Normal isn't all it is cracked up to be. :-) My new normal is half the calories of my BMR and twice as much exercise as my chart says I need to loose 0.5 pounds a week. Over tha last few days this is what I aim for, but I am not sure how long I can maintain it. I should have lost 4 lbs with this plan but alas I only loose…
  • I need my coffee and I don't pollute it. :-) I justify my habit by (http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/features/coffee-new-health-food) the benefits as researchers are suggesting now.
  • Feel free to add me. Willpower is a muscle to be exercised, and habit makes it easier. Make it a habit. :-)

  • Just started using body media this week, and have it linked to MyFitnessPal to collect the dietary info. I have had issues with exercise equipment over reporting, under reporting and not picking up my heart beat. I figured this would be a consistent way for me to capture the data, without effort. I really like it. I have…
  • I am considerably older than 19, but feel free to add me.
  • I was diagnosed 6 years ago at TSH 6.6, then while taking levo continued to shoot up. TSH was at 50+ before it started to turn back down. Every 3-6 months the perscription was being upped. It hasn't been stable until ths year and I now run at a TSH 4.5-4.6 for the last 6 months on 325mcg of Synthroid. If the thyroid is…
  • It took four years for my values TSH values to get in check, so don't give up. I take blood tests every month and see the endo every three months. I have resigned myself to workout twice as hard as the guidelines say for someone without hypo, and anyone else trying to loose weight. I try to keep my caloric intake well…
  • Welcome Back! Back from a year long haitus myself. Returning to my strict fitness, food and now adding sleep routine. I am on my third Dr. and after four + years after diagnosis I am finally in range of my TSH values at 325mcg of Syntroid. My hiatus was work related and it was impossible to cling to a routine during that…
  • I basically rest. I don't exercise and don't log anything. I walk/work/sit/lay around feeling guilty about it until I am ready to return to working out. I am contious about calories, but I don't log them. I am just back from loosing two weeks recovering from a cold, but have a tendency to over do things the first few days…

  • Smoked Salmon is a staple to me as well as the tuna pouches.
  • I try to prepare the weeks meals during the weekend. Since most of my diet is raw foods it isn't coocking as much as planning portion sizes etc. Then I toss the portion bags in the fridge and grab them randomly through out the week.
  • One way in which the fruit sugar effects your body is that it can spike the triglycride levels. But if you don't have a cholesterol problem or problems with diabities, I don't think it affects you much.
  • Today: Dream Theater; Porcupine Tree; Opeth. For me great workout music.
  • I was diagnosed 2.5 years ago with hypothyroidism and a cholesterol in balance, the latter which I had suspected and have under control. I was put on Synthroid (levothyroxin) and in realizing that I had hypothyroidism, I immediately changed my lifestyle and eating habits. I have never been an emotional eater, never…

  • engineman312, I'll switch my cardio to interval training for a while. I currently do interval on the elliptical, but not in the form suggested, and I never go full-out so I'll have energy for the entire set, and I never rest I just slow to about 70% effort.
