  • hahahah I wish I knew what I did to look younger. I definitely FEEL better. Maybe it's just a really good pic. ;)
  • :) Thanks guys. I'm lucky that at 5'10 I'm tall enough to carry more weight and not have people guess as high as I really am.
  • Most of what I did was just simple stuff. Cut my calories down to 1600 a day and tried to exercise even just by walking from the back of the parking lot or getting up and walking around the block. Putting on music and dancing and singing while cleaning helped too. It takes a lot of time, and a lot of back and forth... but…
  • Sourdough or extra sour rye bread... pepper jack and extra sharp cheddar cheese, butter on the outsides of the bread to make that yummy crispy outside. Occasionally throw a piece of ham or some pastrami in there... but mostly just the bread and cheese. Hell, when I was a teenager I'd actually just fry up cheese and eat it…
  • Very much this. It's not that my ex was a bad person... he was just bad for ME. I finally stopped trying to be the "good wifey" after 9 years and realized that. I'm much, much happier now with my second husband. We fit together much better and want more of the same things.
  • Oh yes! So many people are like "ewwwwwww, you eat Spam?" But I loooove it. I can cube and fry up an entire can until it's crispy and just eat it happily. Or mix it in with some rice, or mac & cheese. :D
  • Oh lord... so many things. A bag of Ruffles with Lay's Ranch Dip Cheezits Chili and rice Lasagna Burritos Damn... now my mouth is watering.
  • This was my sister's wedding in 2002. I was 295. Holy crap was I huge. Took me a few years after that to really get started... but this was definitely the picture that did it.
  • I already have two tattoos, received before... but I'm definitely planning on a steampunk butterfly when I get to my goal. :) I also got my nose re-pierced when I climbed Bishop's Peak the first time and made it all the way to the top.

  • I'm 5'10, and my goal weight is 165. My highest weight was 295 and current weight is 219. I've never been below 190 since I got my full height at 16, so I have no idea what I'll look like at 165. Anxious to find out! My little sister is almost 6' and she got down to around 155 and looked amazing... but she has smaller…
  • My mom and both my sisters are on here with me. We all started MFP within about a week of each other, around January 1st. I've lost 25 pounds, and they have lost 28, 24, and 25. It's really, really nice to have the support. And when we all have dinner together, we don't have to worry about counting because no matter who's…
  • I'm paying $49 a month for my gym. Totally worth it since I have access to not only the weight machines and classes, but also to a lovely pool and hot tub. The pool alone would be worth it since I have problems with my hip and sometimes the only thing I can do is the swimming.
  • I have the same problem. I feel really weird if I am eating without a book. The only time I don't pick up something to read when I have food is when I'm out at a restaurant or at someone else's house for dinner. I think my main problem is the sensation of eating itself is pleasurable so I keep it going as fast as I can...…
  • I have a labral tear and a bony protrusion on the head of the femur in my right hip. I am currently undergoing testing to find out what the extent of damage is and if/how they can fix it. I had good luck easing some of the pain with physical therapy for 3 months, doing specialized stretches and a lot of walking when the…
  • I can totally relate. I just signed up at my local gym last Saturday, and have started going in the mornings before work. Luckily it's slow in the mornings, so there's not a lot of people for me to feel freaked out about. It was really hard to get on those machines the first time when the people who were there look like…
  • OMG I know this feeling. In high school I was always wishing I was one of those short, petite girls that the guys would pick up and carry around. My husband is 3 inches taller than me, but he (right now) weighs over 50 pounds less than me and I feel really awkward sitting on his lap tho he tells me I'm not too heavy. My…
  • I figured out that 2 servings of cereal + four ounces of milk has the perfect ratio AND leaves a little left in the bottom of the bowl for my rats to lick out. :)
  • This! This is how I feel exactly. It's the whole sensation of having a big bite of something in my mouth. The sheer awesomeness of the tastes and textures. The feeling of swallowing, and then the next bite to keep that flavor/sensation going. I used to make 2 cups of white rice, dump in 3/4 of a stick of butter, and a can…
  • Hi there! Welcome aboard. This place is amazing. I'm 5'10.5 and my heaviest weight was 295. I'd been slowly losing (and re-gaining, and losing some more) over the last few years... but since joining MFP on January 1st, I've lost 23 pounds and am feeling SO much better in a lot of ways. I'm waiting to hear about a surgery…
  • Hee hee! Best idea ever!
  • That's wonderful! You've come such a long way and you definitely should be beaming with pride. It's a hard road, but you've made such great progress and I know you'll keep it up. Make sure to post pictures of the horseback riding! It's such a blast! :) :flowerforyou:
  • Oh I would love to look like Christina Hendricks! :)
  • I signed up on January 1st, and have logged in every day faithfully since then. I'm down 16 pounds... tho it could be more, my weigh-in is tomorrow. :) LOVE this site!
  • Woo woo! Go you! I just started C25K on Monday. Looking forward to getting to where you are!
  • Peanut butter and turkey ham on tortillas. Nacho Cheese Doritos with marshmallow creme.
  • I definitely needed this today after my moment of guilt last night for something so utterly silly that wasn't even a huge mistake. Thank you!
  • You look so wonderful and so justifiably proud of yourself! Happy Birthday! :)
  • OMG it made me shake my head like crazy and want to throttle the woman because I've heard that SO MUCH!
  • Very much this! :)
  • Exactly. I'll let myself eat just about anything if I really feel I want it. I just do my best to keep it within my calorie goals. But occasionally (usually every couple of weeks) I know I'm going to go over. In that case I keep it to one meal and try not to blow it hugely... just maybe a few hundred over, if that much.…
