Sorry for having a dim view of those who fall for and promote the old: "Hey guess what?? If you shoot up with pregnant woman piss while starving yourself for days.... you lose weight!!!!"
-
There are only these possible reasons for pursuing this diet: - general stupidity (what diet has ever worked other than regular exercise and healthy eating?) - eating disorder (injecting hormones? Malnutrition? What about a common sense injection?) - extreme low self worth/ gullibility (get new friends) If you're on this…

I drink quite a bit - it does 3 things I reckon: - helps supress appetite (I believe all hot drinks do) - you don't need milk in it (4 coffee/teas a day with milk could add up to 500+ cals a week) - caffeine boost burns a few extra cals So I think it's the way to go. Seems to make you feel clean and alert in a way that…

I am at a steady point and just went 900 calories over my goal yesterday! Usually I'm around 400 under. I had breakfast but am going to try a 24 hour fast today and see what happens.

Why worry - drink when you're thirsty that's all! You don't need to keep track of water! Let's put the ridiculous myth that you have to drink 8 cups to rest already http://psychcentral.com/blog/archives/2010/12/08/the-myth-behind-drinking-8-glasses-of-water-a-day/

Wow @ the amount of good looking girls getting caught hook, line and sinker for this :noway: There must be a life-lesson in there somewhere! PS. I share deep dark secrets about what men want with my friends on mfp. Add me if you want to be in on it

And enough lean protein to keep your muscles from wasting.
-
Oh and I can easily go over 2000 in an evening due to drink and dinner! I just resolve to make up for it during the week by eating less and excercising more. It's not rocket science and it's not a hopeless situation!

Weight fluctuates. Some days I am up 1.5kg! Then it crashes down again. You can't go on a day-to-day reading - it has to be longer week-to-week. A few cups of water could be responsible for the 0.5kg! Don't be a quitter. How will you get through life if a small setback makes you give up??
-
Almonds - they're great for you but deceptively calorific! Go easy on them!
-
Good advice there! I quick cook prawns/raw calamari and chuck em on a salad for lunch. Oh and don't go to bed hungry - eat a couple hours before bed, even if it's a yoghurt. You don't want to start the day starving.
-
Asparagus, green beans, pretty much any green veg - you can eat as much as you like and it will fill you up. For meat, any fish, prawns, scallops, calamari, cod etc will more than fill you up because of it's high protein. Eat lots. Cook some chicken breasts/thighs in the oven and snack on it when peckish. Soup - drink…

Put in your food during meals so it doesn't go out of control! Take your running gear with you and run for your life every day!
-
You'll never need to diet again when you have control over your calories with MFP. Welcome and you can add me as a friend.
-
welcome - get some friends to help encourage you and peek at their diaries! Add me too if you like
-
You have a psychological block you need to resolve. This is not good. Eat smaller meals more often - and stuff you like! You should be looking forward to your next meal because it's tasty. Porridge with fruits and honey is unbeatably delicious for me. I also stick 8 chicken thighs in the oven with some herbs for 40mins and…

I've noticed one or two friends telling me the same. I think there's two things at play: society has a distorted view on normal, which I believe is tending to be slightly to a lot overweight. I also think friends can get jealous. Seeing you slim makes them feel inadequate, lazy and gluttonous. Do what makes you happy, eat…

Interval training is supposed to be several times more effective at burning calories than constant jogging. When i hit the gym, i often do this which I made up: 5 mins at 5mph 3 mins at 6.5mph (i.e. add 1.5mph each time) 2 mins at 8mph 1 min at 9.5mph total = 10mins Repeat 3-4 times (believe me you will feel it!) That is…

Sure, sure, yes but answer this....how did you get that body??!!

Of all the places i have been to on the internet, this has got to be the friendliest

Starvation mode is a myth according to one poster who linked to some research. Apparantly, you have to not eat ANYTHING for 2 and a half days to get to starvation mode!! I think going under a couple hundred cals every so often is ok.

Get digital ones with body fat % measurements. Part of successful weight loss involves building fat-burning muscle while losing fat. This means your weight alone is not a good indicator of progress. Either way, the scale doesn't matter, the progress on using that scale does.
-
haha - sorry I didn't think! Apart from writing the most boring post in the world, i've inadvertently made people a bit insecure about their weight loss! When i step on the scales, i've gone from delight to a slightly worried "Gosh!". I am pretty thin now and still losing weight at a fast pace. I started 7 weeks ago and…

While boarding with friends in a chalet, i did a spinning dance move. My friend called it a "fat pirouette" and everyone in the room pretended my belly had smacked the sides of their faces! *kitten*!

Stop wasting time on this message board!

Your husband would want you to be happy. So do what you think will make you happy.

The 8 glasses of water is another peristent myth that needs debunking. There is only one rule that you should follow. Drink water when you are thirsty. And try and have a glass before each meal to help fool your stomach into feeling full. Ok that's two rules!…

After reading all this...I'm totally put off from going to the gym :D
