Thanks folks. Going to stick to pelvic lifts only till a see specialist again at the end of the month.

I seem to get mixed advice from doctors on crunch movements. Everything I read says don't do crunches but GP's advice was to do mini crunch and hold (like 100s). What am I missing here?

Set as sedentary

Focus on increasing your distance and don't worry about your speed. Get yourself up to 17k then work on speed. Increasing your distance will boost your confidence.
-
You need to be happy to provide happiness for those around you. Focus on doing the things that you need to do to find happiness and everything else will fall in to place. Take pride in yourself and move on.

If you haven't plateaued yet I suggest you keep at your current routine if it is working for you. When you find yourself suck at the same weight for weeks and weeks that's the time to change it up.

I would never have managed to lose 50lbs if it relied on getting up early. Some people just aren't morning people. Can you use your lunchtime or evenings?

Keep to your mfp suggested calorie intake, do the Jillian DVDs, see some progress and take strength from that. Weight loss is a long battle and you need to be in it for the long run so take it one step at a time. I'm not sure if much can be done through exercise for saggy boobs but I suggest you get a sports bra to avoid…

I'm amazed that a doctor would recommend so many pills. You must have a lot of diagnosed medical conditions?

Also some recent research from my colleagues has shown that BMI needs updating. It should allow lower weights for short people and higher weights for tall people. For 5ft2 its 97lbs to 131lbs is classified "healthy". http://people.maths.ox.ac.uk/trefethen/bmi_calc.html

"What do I need to do?" Keep going. Don't give up. Stop expecting short term results.

Congratulations. I'm 5ft2 and currently 135lbs and still feeling very podgy. I'm aiming for 120lbs initially but could imagine going to 110 if needed. I'm very curvy so hopefully 120lbs will be a good weight for me accomodating my boobs.

Or pick a room with no carpet or soft furnishings. Worked for me. Owner of very happy 5 year old cat with no litter tray who does all her business outside.
-
Lock the kitten in the kitchen with litter tray until it learns. Also make sure that you clean the places where she has peed or pooed so that she cannot smell it and is tempted to go there again.

Stopping smoking is the best thing you can do for your health. It will set you on the right path for becoming more healthy with your food. I recommend Allen Carr also. Would you rather gain 5lbs and stop smoking forever, or lose 5lbs and smoke the rest of your life away? Make it a priority.

I don't know what your condition is but I'm glad you are feeling better now. I have a crohnic illness and have been doing triathlons for the last 2 years. They are excellent!!! My advice would be just to sign up to one. Do the c25k programme to get you walking and running. Go adventuring on your bicycle. Cycle up some…

Hi lovely people, I'd love to go to a con and cosplay but haven't summoned up the courage yet! I'm an anime fan although I haven't watched a lot recently. Been playing League of Legends and FFVII recently. Add me :) Leila

Hey folks. I'm 5ft2 and started at 196lbs (wow) Now 141lbs and aiming for 120lbs. Please add me :)

I think you need to get some professional help. An eating disorder is a serious condition and you need some help to reset your way of thinking. Perhaps you could try adding things slowly back into your diet. If you are craving chocolate/fat/ice cream it is probably because you are getting no sugar or fat in your diet.…

If I get pregnant I look forward to sleeping all day :)

I'm not pregnant but I put 5ft2 120lbs into the calculator just for fun and it reckons I should eat 1324 cals in my first trimester....not sure many doctors would agree this is healthy...
-
I'm 26 and 5ft2 and currently ~133lbs. I maintain on 1400/1500 calories. I'd like to get down to 120lbs. I find the only way for me to lose weight is to NET 1200. This could be by eating less or by eating more and exercising. Either way, you need a bigger calorie deficit if you are maintaing. Achieve this through diet or…

Don't spoil Christmas for your kitten!! Let it play in the tree. :)

Christianity has useful things to say about dieting though I suppose: Proverbs 23:2 proclaims, “Put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony.” No, wait! Don't kill yourself as your religious text suggestions. Instead, stop believing in a deity and take control of your own life.
-
I thought gluttony was a sin? Aren't you all going to hell? Someone please delete/report this thread. MFP is for discussing diets not a deity.

I'm 5ft2, 135lbs and working towards 120lbs. I started at 196lb and have no doubt I will reach my goal. Ultimately, if this is really important to you then you need to make it more of a priority. Are there ways you can incorporate exercise into you lifestyle? If you like biking, why don't you use a real bike to get to and…

Don't worry too much about sugar intake then. It is very hard to stay under the recommended allowance. It sounds like your main goal should be weight loss. With this in mind, don't fret over sugar, keep an eye on your total calorie intake and your sat fats.
-
Just no. Dehydration is not going to help you lose fat.
-
Just accept that your weigh ins before and during your period are not an accurate reflection of your weight loss. Drink lots of water, avoid overeating and carry on.
