I don't know how to help her get motivated. It sounds like she has heard all this advice a thousand times over all her life. Show her the way; prepare meals that are nutritious and delicious. I usually don't worry about my sugar too much. I try to keep it as low as possible and at the end of the day I see what it would be without fruit. As thos is my current predicament I decided against Zumba this morning as I do not feel like being in a cramped room with 20 other women, but I will exercise at home when my daughter is napping. It helps me feel better.

I usually weigh at least once a day. First thing in the morning with no clothes. Sometimes if I remember I weigh myself before bed to see the difference a day makes and to see what my body does while I am sleeping.

The thing that made me stop is my first manicure. I didn't get fake nails, but having my hands pampered like that I think made me want to keep them nice.

I struggle with motivation daily. I try to tell myself that no normal person wants to do something, they do it because that is what needs to be done. Simple as that, if you need/want something to be done you will do it. No matter how much you resist, you will do it.

Keep saying positive things, but do not make her feel pressured. Also, try incorporating her into your "calories burned". Teach her what you are learning and she may be more apt once it all doesn't seem so foreign to her.
