He is 11. Of course he says he can't stick to it! But he's obese and besides bullying, this is a medical concern. Have you talked to the dietitian about foods he would like that are balanced-his favorite vegetables and fruits, maybe make homemade granola bars at home with him, or go on long family walks/bike rides?

At the beginning I was losing almost 2 pounds a week...now it's more like .5-1...I got offtrack but i'm trying to stay motivated because every pound counts now. Don't overthink what progress you want, and the surprise of how much you lose will be even better?

I'm not a vegetarian, but I love vegetarian meals and the emphasis on vegetables and legumes versus a plate based on a slab of meat. Not a fan of imitation foods, unless it's imitation crab.

You can be unhealthily overweight/underweight and still be in your bmi, yes it can be misleading but it's a quick gauge meant to be used by the whole population. I think it's good for people who aren't in the center of a "healthy" bmi, because they can clearly see if they are out of a certain range.

cranberry juice has tons of sugar in it, and unless you're drinking unsweetened tea, so does your arizona. Why not log liquid calories? It's not as if they matter less, and they're usually nutritionally deficient chunks of calories you don't even realize you're drinking.

Yes of course! They're a food afterall. And sure some are extremely low cal, but others can get out of hand if you underestimate.

I eat em with cottage cheese, or hummus. Cook in a little olive oil and oh man...so good just plain then! Also stuffing mushrooms with feta, spinach, garlic, and rice(though I use cauliflower instead of rice) *mouth waters*
