I currently follow a ketogenic diet. I recommend looking through this FAQ: https://www.reddit.com/r/keto/wiki/faq To answer your questions, it's all about moderation. If you eat low carb and then start eating high carb, you WILL see weight gain mostly from water weight. When you eat more carbs, you retain more water. Keto…

Your first paragraph is what I was referring too. I don't necessarily eat a lot of crap, but I wonder if I ate a balanced breakfast if I would be more full later on in the day. I understand that a calorie deficiency is what matters but given my past with overeating, snacking to me makes me nervous.

My snacks are like 100 calories. A full meal for me is 400-500 calories.

I am 22 :) I would like friends for support on here!

Don't really care. It helps me. And I thought you were a grown man... your maturity suggests otherwise. Oops!

As a college student in her senior year, yes, I know about both those things. But thank you for the sarcasm.

I've been taking it for a week and I've heard lots of negative responses to it so I want to share with you my experience: Even though I've only been taking it for a little bit, I have already noticed a difference. My mood has been significantly improved, I'm sleeping better, my appetite has decreased, and I no longer have…

I had my tonsillectomy when I was 19 so I guess that's considered an adult. I'm going to be honest ... it was awful. I also had my deviated septum fixed, an adenoidectomy, and a bone spur removed so those all probably contributed to my horrible experience. BUT it is definitely painful and you won't be able to eat anything.…

I am around there. Feel free to add me. I just started my journey!

Try and incorporate some lean protein into your diet (chicken, pork, etc.). That'll bump your calorie count up. Also, whole grains will help. Maybe invest in some 100 calorie pack snacks. If you eat mostly veggies, then yeah, you're gonna have some trouble getting to 1500 without stuffing yourself!

omg, yum... BUMP!

Thank you all! Very helpful :)

5 days usually from 8:30 am until 3:40; about 3 days a week where I am there until 6 pm.

^ This. Machines can be inconsistent and inaccurate. Do not look to them for the calories you've burned. The most accurate way you will get how many calories you've burned is through a HRM. I have a Polar FT7 and I adore it. Invest in one, you won't regret it!

We are 2 hours away and I can't leave Lancaster at any moment. I consider it long distance if we can't see each other every other day due to the separation. And eventually, he will be working in Dallas, TX while I'll still be in Lancaster. Now THAT will be long distance.

I go to school in Lancaster and my boyfriend lives in Philadelphia. I live in Philadelphia when I'm out of school, but even then, we are about 30 - 45 minutes away (by car). I really love him and we hope to get married one day!

This is a really great point. I remember going to the gym and trying to do an honest work out when a gym junkie beef head turned, snickered to his friend and asked, "What is it? Free trial membership for the week or something?" It's hurtful sometimes especially when you're just trying to get started!

Vitatop muffins and brownies. 100 cals, filled with whole wheat, fiber, and vitamins. A MFP friend mentioned it to me! They are so delicious, especially if you heat them in the microwave for 30 seconds.

Welcome! All the best of luck to you.

It's so damn cheap ... why not?! Lol. I like it.

Major: Undecided but I know I'm minoring in Spanish Year in School: Sophomore Does your school have a gym?: Yes, but it's small. If so, have you ever used your school's gym?: Yep! But not that much last year ... and I signed up for Planet Fitness because there will be less people there with more machines. It's only a five…

Sorry for not submitting my weight ... I did not end up weighing myself this past week but I will tomorrow. I'll update y'all later. So proud of everyone!! You are all doing so well and are inspiring me to keep at it. I already finished our challenge for the week ;)

Wow, all great suggestions! Thank you!!!!

I think what you said holds true: Friends or classmates who eat out regularly or order in ... I think my roommate ordered chinese at least once a week last year and I was always tempted to join her. My school's cafeteria has some healthy options ... but again, I don't know if its cooked in oil or smothered in butter. You…

I want to join in!!

I am 210. I lost 2.4 this week, I think ... my sister's scale is kind of unreliable. I just bought a new one. Also I'm on vacation this week without access to a gym soo I'm probably eating more than usual and burning less. Not looking forward to this week's weigh in on Friday. Sigh.

ANY variation of pasta ... mmm marinara, bolognese, white wine and garlic, with poultry, with beef, with seafood. Veggies? Eh okay. Now my splurge is a tuna melt! Love it!

You will! Trust me.
