  • Used to have that problem. I would weigh until two numbers came up the same and then that was the number I went with. I got a new scale a while back and I don't get different numbers any more. Sometimes I wish I did :s
  • My DH calls Thanksgiving "National Carb day" I did track what I ate and yes if I track correctly I had over 250 carbs. And yes this morning my blood sugar was 179 which is super high for me. That is a one time picture in the morning and I know in a few hours it will be back in the norm. Darn dawn effect. But thank goodness…
  • Been missing. A little bit off track. Frustrated :( But I know it is me and my choices. Not so much trying to lose weight but trying to get my blood sugar level under control without prescriptions. Yesterday I thought I did good until I saw how many carbs was in the Cauliflower pizza. Learned a lesson there. My fault for…
  • I was out of town for 3 weeks - business & Family trip. I did remarkable well - lost 2 lbs but found 1 and now just hovering. Was very good about eating low carb. It sure helps when DH is on the same page re eating. When I got home trying to readjust to a routine that is when my food choices were not the best. Last night I…
  • So here I am again and not getting a good start to the month of June. With that said I am holding myself accountable and new day, new start.
  • Jun 1 Carbs were over 100 :( went out to dinner for my Son's birthday. Ice cream cake and loaded mash potatoes threw me over to 121 carbs. Happy it was not worse. Also missed the bed time by 5 mins but the timer worked great!
  • Jumping in! - I will eat less than 100 Carbs a day. I will get better sleep by going to bed by 11 pm and no tv playing in the back ground or at least set a timer for automatically turning off. It has been an awful habit that has been hard to break.
  • I also use an app on my phone. "Blood Glucose Tracker" I find it easy to use and very helpful.
  • You all motivate me with your committments. Since the holidays it has been carbs, carbs, and more carbs. I know I would feel better doing keto. And my eating is way better than it was 2 years ago but I need to reigned it in and get serious. I am here in Southern California and we are having tons of rain, which is needed…
  • I haven't posted in quite some time but do come in and read. I find it helpful. Eating way to many carbs the past couple weeks. Not too much concerned about weight, it is the darn blood sugar levels for me. I can't afford to take break unless I want to be on meds. (Which I don't). And it is carbs. Doesn't matter if candy,…
  • @stacybw1 you should check out Dr Boz on you tube. My DH and I have learned a lot from her channel. She has written a couple books. Keto Continuum by Annette Bosworth, MD is one I am currently reading. Her first book is Anyway you can. It tells the story about her mother having cancer and changing her diet to low carb.…
  • I have used a BHB powder mixed with water. Though not in ketosis does limit the damage when I do eat carbs. I test my ketone levels first thing in the morning (which is said to be when you are at your lowest) and when I have eaten carbs, I am amazed when it registers as .3. I truly believe it does something. The past two…
  • Big 50 year reunion this last weekend. Big party with over 500 people on Saturday. Lots of carbs. but was behind the scenes so over 7 miles of walking that day. Sunday special get together with over 200 people, more carbs. Incredible weekend of renewing friendships. Grateful to be back to low carbs. My taste buds have…
  • Plugging away. A little over carbs. One good day than one bad day than one good day. . . I will break the cycle. At least my bad days are not like they were a year ago, so making improvements.
  • Got back Sunday night from a weekend business trip. 10 hrs + one way in a car. So 20 +hrs total. Ate pretty decent while traveling and already back to weight before trip. Really working on lower carb intake and not worrying so much about calories. Yesterday was a good day. 10% Carb which was 55 Carbs. Here's to another…
  • Activity is way up. Lots of steps and lots of miles. Now I just got to get the carbs in check. Not losing but maintaining.
  • The weekend was pretty decent. Busy but productive. Carbs were a little high but, calories were in check. DH is setting a high bar and I am grateful for his example. It makes me know that I can do it too. Goal is getting the blood sugar numbers down! Will test A1C later this month.
  • Got over 8 miles walking yesterday. Thank goodness because I ate too many carbs and needed to burn them.
  • Bad day yesterday. Ate too much and too many carbs. Did manage to do a weight workout. Grateful for a new day, new start!
  • Did a great job with foods yesterday. Carbs 48. Nice run 3 mile run with the dog. Today is leg day with weights.

  • I like the title LC Boot Camp!! Last month had a few stresses but managed them well food wise. Making better food choices! DS uses the Strava app and has encouraged me to join him. It has several challenges you can join. Been using the app for a while. You get bragging rights. The last two months not able to achieve them…
  • You can do it!! My DH had a heart attack back in 2018. Prior to this, all his blood tests always came back normal. So why all the sudden this massive heart attack? Cardiologist just prescribed medication no real answers. He went from no meds to taking 5 different meds. It caused him to really research things about the food…
  • So far this month I have really kept my carbs in line. Yesterday did have a little too much popcorn at movies but down 3 lbs for the week. This really is the first time for me being consistent with controlling intake of carbs. When I feel like eating something I shouldn't I remind myself "Do I really want to mess up my…
  • Happy 4th!! Really doing well this month so far. Gained at the beginning due to surgery but just a couple days of good low carb eating and I am down over 5 lbs. So excited!! Loss the surgery gain plus a little more!
  • Starting the month off recovering from kidney stone procedure. Weight gain - so not happy, but due to no activity and eating a little more comfort food. I get the stent removed today so really hoping to get my activity back to normal. Managed to walk about a mile yesterday. Goal for July - Carbs under 75 a day, 50 even…
  • Weight up a little bit. Routine has been off all week due to preparing for a minor procedure to break up kidney stones. Had that done yesterday and glad to get back to a routine of the supplements I have been taking. I take Ginger and Turmeric. I think they really help me but was not allowed to take them for a week prior…
  • Just having a tough month staying on track. Eating way too many carbs and just don't care. Mornings I am strong but nights I throw in the towel. Did take a evening walk last night and that seem to help my mood. Slept good last night which was very much needed. Up coming surgery on Monday to break up kidney stones. I don't…
