  • I was disappointed to find scallops have carbs.
  • Obvious answer is keto. Do it for 3months and test your blood. Alcohol raises my blood pressure.
  • I am 5'8" 190 lbs. I should be 160. I gained 30 lbs the past 3 years from drinking wine and simply overeating. Yeah I suppose I can walk after leg days. Its frustrating on the stairmaster/jogging when the body is willing but the legs are not.
  • Hey what shoes were you wearing before? Are the Nikes better? Were you jogging? Ever try Asics Gel Kayano? That is my favorite but always looking for better. Had Plantar and took ayear to heal. Tried Cortisone injection but didnt do too much for me.
  • Had it and rested for a month, but every morning standing up reinjured it. Got a cortizone shot, and is now 90% better! I started jogging again 2 days after the shot.
  • Oh I was gonna say its not normal to go from 118 sys to 200 without serious straining....I do think I have hydration issues. I am never thirsty!
  • I understand about the fluctuations. Mine will go from 130/90 to 150/100 for upto an hour after lifting. Then it goes 170/115 10 hours later. My bp doesnt fluctuate as much as yours. Sitting or making dinner gives me a reading of 130/92. My diastolic never goes below 85 even lying in bed. And my systolic never above 170.
  • I found that I tolerated Isopure pretty well; especially the vanilla. I recently however started using Now Whey Protein Isolate, which has no fillers or sucralose which means no flavor, and tolerating it well so far.
  • That's helluva walk. Whats OW and CW?
  • Weird but I am beginning to think/feel that I am getting fatter jogging!? Most days 30 min, twice some days which makes me fatter. "chronic cardio," some call it. So I have been walking more; 1.5 hours a day getting better results so far. I am either going to walk or sprint from now on.
  • Just cooked Trader Joe's Brown Rice pasta. 2 oz dry is a serving; 4 oz dry yielded 7 oz cooked. Are you guys getting 5 oz yields from 2 oz of regular pastas? I am not sure this pasta is worth it at 400 calories for less than a cup.
  • 35 year streak is pretty impressive. He does look pretty healthy at 68; would love to see his blood works, etc.
  • Wow congrats. Yeah meds suck! lol. I lost 30 lbs, stopped drinking and smoking and didn't see enough of an improvement to stop meds. Not going to give up though.
  • Hmm..I read its supposed to be affective for 24 hours. A glass lowered my pressure for about 6 hours last night. But I cant seem to duplicate yesterday's reading. How much were you taking?
  • Great point/advice people. I am going to increase calories and carbs too. Cortisol? I wonder if my diet has something to do with the stress/anxiety I have been feeling too?
  • I try to eat a gram per pound of lean body mass, as any amount not needed converts to sugar. Is this right?
  • So a weight of 160 with 20% bodyfat requires about 130 or so grams of protein right? Is 40pro/ 30 fat/ 30 carb a good ratio?
  • Skinny fat is a good description of what is happening to me. My body refuses to burn fat...wants to eat muscle first..
  • Most people on this site eat their exercise calories I believe. Some don't and some eat back half.
  • Ok . I chose "inactive," since I sit all day at work. I updated to .5 lbs loss per week giving me 1980 calories. I will consider it for sure. Should I double the weight lifting and do less cardio? I also forgot to mention I walk for 45 min/day too. Im trying to stay under 120 grams of protein, so do I eat the extra…
  • I look scrawny for one, and have lost some strength. My shirts are loose around my arms, shoulders, back, and legs, but not as much around the waist.
  • I have a small frame and at 160 but still have a lot of belly fat. 1230 calories quoted by this site is to lose 2 lbs a week. Too aggressive perhaps? I just started back to weight training after a 4 month layoff. I did chest yesterday for example 3 sets flat bench 6-10 reps, same for incline and decline. I will consider…
  • Yeah 1200 calories is what MFP tells me to eat for an inactive guy like me. However a different site calculated BMR at 2060, 1560 with the deficit. I decided to have my first cheat day today and ate a 1 lb bacon cheese burger, fries, and a bowl of chili, a meal that I almost finished. Afterwards i had my best jog in the…
  • Never considered the problem of over-training. It's just that I sit on my *kitten* all day due to my business. The workouts are the only exercise I get. But maybe I will consider a rest day?! Didn't think about resting from cardio. I don't drink water as I am never thirsty! The juices give me plenty of liquids, and I get a…
  • I have often wondered if one could go from overweight to muscular, but now I see it is possible. Pro body builders start skinny and and add lbs as they work out and eat, but I have never heard of a pro who started out fat. Hope to see you at 200 lbs again...of muscle! Congrats
  • For those of you in the market for a juicer: I bought the juicer in the movie the Breville Juice Fountain; $150.00 at Bed Bath. Overall its a good juicer, but doesnt juice the vegetables very well, especially spinach and kale. I do extract more juice from spinach with the stems intact, but only get a few drops with kale.…
  • Hi everyone. I saw this movie 2 weeks ago and juiced for one week. Just wanted to share my experiences, but first my background. I was a heavy drinker-3 to 5 glasses of cab, 3 to 6 beers after, and 3 or more tequilas after that, about 4 times a week. I would succomb to the late-night munchies by pigging out at Jack in the…
