A shameless bump.

Yeah to hot water; breakfast isn't really an issue, I always have oats for breakfast. I know the consensus on the little sachets of oats is not good, but they are perfect for me at work.

It's compulsory. Back... not so much.

Why is it so big?! (Ah, fixed it. This is Boris and Rufus)

You could take them to a no-kill door shelter? I'm a cat lover. I have two. I'm currently in the process of trying to rehome my sofa because my big ginger cat scratched it.
-
It'a indirectly about a kid. The main issue is actually the cat, and how the OP can manage the cat's behaviour. So maybe people who don't have a cat shouldn't comment here? Oh no, wait... it's a public forum.

This is positive punishment. It teaches the cat that being near the child is a negative experience, which is likely to result in the problem (I don't actually think there is a 'problem' here, the cat acted on instinct since it felt confined and threatened - solved with an open door) getting worse rather than better - cat…

I've not read through all the pages here so I'm unsure what has been said. Declawing a cat is illegal where I live (in the UK) and with very good reason (in my opinion). It's inhumane and cruel (again, my opinion, we're all entitled to them). Cats use their claws to jump and climb and to hold their food (if you feed chunks…

The ellipticals at the gym I use don't have the option for an incline. I have an orientation at another local gym tomorrow, if those have the option I'll probably play around with it. When I first started going to the gym I would do an hour on the lowest resistance, I was a little bit sweaty at the end. I switched to the…

Thanks - my hips are very flexible too! As a kid I (so I am told) used to sit and watch the TV with my legs behind my head, rocking - that's how I was comfortable! Haha. Very strange child. I'm going to gradually increase my weights at home. I see my surgeon on 1st May so I will ask him then what he thinks about heavy…

I do 5 minutes at the lowest resistance, then 3 minutes at level 4 resistance, then 2 minutes at level 6 resistance and repeat until I think I might die.

I dated a guy for a while last year who was from the same neck of the woods from me (Manchester, England) and so we had similar accents. However, whenever he spoke to strangers, or on the phone, he would talk in a really odd American accent. He is 100% British, has never been to America and knows nobody who lives there.…

It's mostly to do with my own neuroticism. It makes me feel flustered and like I need to correct it!

1) Being (intentionally) unemployed. Looking for work or being a full-time student doesn't count. 2) Clinginess. 3) Chewing with your mouth open. 4) Drug use. 5) Poor spelling/grammar.

Thank you. Doing things like squats has certainly improved the strength and stability in my bad knee. I'm hoping that, as long as I do it very gradually, lifting weights will do the same for my shoulders (and elbows, come to think of it, they're a bit tricky too!).
-
Ditto! Thighs and calves of steel here due to years in physiotherapy learning how to walk without my knees collapsing in on me! And wobbly everything else!
-
Thanks, that's encouraging. Shoulder surgery doesn't bother me that much I suppose. The knee reconstruction bothers me. I'll be off my feet for ages after that. After dislocating it in the first place I was on crutches for 18 months (which is when I piled on the majority of my weight).

I have three ruptured ligaments in my right knee, and a fractured patella (caused by a nasty dislocation) and am awaiting a multiple ligament reconstruction. I'm doing the 30DS and have found that squats have really strengthened my knee - check your form and don't try to go too low. I can't, however, do the buttkicks,…

I'm from England, but I live in Wales now.

50 minutes of low-impact circuits (low impact because of my knee!)

My insomnia has started up again this week. Today for me is day four of being awake, I've had probably 4 or 5 hours sleep over the last four days and as a result have just been signed off from work with stress. I'm usually quite active, my job keeps me on my feet and I go to the gym a few times a week. I'm just too tired…

Hello everyone! I'm Kate, I'm from Wales, UK. I'm another who won't be following the given plan 100% because I'm following a plan given by a combination of my physiotherapist (I'm recovering from a nasty knee injury and awaiting ligament reconstruction to three of my ligaments!) and my baby brother - who is a fitness…

I'm in... onederland is in sight!

I'm recovering from a badly injured knee, I ruptured all but one of my ligaments. I'm awaiting reconstructive surgery later in the year. I also have hypermobility syndrome which means I can't do anything too high impact, especially with my arms as my shoulders are prone to dislocation. I am doing the 30DS, I am only on…

I take my gym stuff with me to work, if I've got it with me, I'll go on my way home. If I come home first, it's 50:50 whether or not I'll bother.

Well done so far, you said yourself you've done it once - you'll do it again. .... is that Caernarfon castle??
-
I broke my second smallest toe on my left foot last week. I couldn't walk on it for two days, but then it was mostly okay. A little bit sore, but manageable. I was back in the gym by the Monday.
-
Have you seen a Dr to determine the cause of the pain? I have a very painful knee and sometimes use Voltarol gel which is okay - but I also take Diclofenac tablets on bad days.
-
I sure know how it feels for your leg to be 'loose'! My kneecap jiggles about all the time - it doesn't really hurt when it does it, but it can click quite loudly! If I fully extend my leg, the bones try to pop out all over the place - I have to think about what my leg is doing all the time to stop it from happening; I…

It's not a case of switching as I haven't run so much as an inch since high school! I was just enquiring from a more hypothetical stance :) Thanks for the replies everyone!
