I just finished steroid eye drops for swelling of my cornea from a fall & the drops are absorbed just like an injection apparently. My blood sugars stayed in the 200's until the day after the drops were finished. As the dose decreased from 3 to 2 to 1 drop a day my sugars gradually started lowering.

Hi, I've been T1 for 41yrs. I've been on a pump nearly 2yrs. My endo's NP has been tweaking my doses a little at a time trying to stop so many lows. Currently I take a total of 20-30u/day with 12.60u being basal. My carb ratio from 11am to midnight is 12:1 & from midnight is 15:1. She just changed my sensitivity from 40 to…

Hi & welcome to MFP. I've been T1 for 42 years & I've tried every artificial sweetener out there & sooner or later you find out they're not good for you. Now I'm reading articles that say Truvia is the best one to use...so I am. Truvia has no calories & just a few carbs. I usually eat breakfast about one hour before…

Hi Bob, My name is Diane & I have been a T1 for 40 years but have only been a pumper for 9 mos. I still have a lot to learn about the workings of my pump which is a Medtronic Minimed Paradigm. Ive lost 30+ lbs & ive been a T1 for 40 yrs. I gained ~ 40 lbs after open heart sgy in '05. Its taken 21 mos to lose 36 lbs but ive done in a safe & healthy way. Its a forever lifestyle & its something you have to be able to maintain forever. Quick fixes & improper nutrition aren't healthy & unsustainable. I would suggest…

I find 4ozs of apple juice do the trick for me(measured} You are supposed to follow the 15 min rule but sometimes it takes 30 min to come up & every 15 min you can overtreat & end up with a high rebound. I used to eat (or gobble) anything & everything around me until the symptoms subsided Fother diabetics truly…
