I love this: http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/sesame-almond-brown-rice-balls-recipe.html

It seems to be working for me! I'm in a similar position as you - trying hard to lose the final few lbs around the middle, and cutting back on grains is helping for sure. I still occasionally have beans and legumes because I care about getting enough iron, though...and that seems to be fine.

You've got a really lovely shape, your shoulders look really in proportion. I know how you feel though, years of swimming as a kid made mine rather broad and at 5'10 I look a bit like a man sometimes ...but you don't at all! Very very feminine curves you got there, and I love the tattoo! I don't normally like them, but…

Soooo did you go back?

@PaisleyVixen: "yup and she offered to drive me home one night and she lives on the other side of my town! i was like are u sure hunny? she was like yes!" So did you ask her in for coffee?
-
I guess gym instructors must get hit on a lot...why don't you see if you have anything in common with her, try to have a chat while she's torturing you on the treadmill, lol, and then if there's chemistry (beyond the fact that she's hot), then ask her out! I asked a trainer out once and we set a date, then he texted to say…

Good point! Mine did ask for all that info, pretty good for £12! Only thing is that the chest strap is a bit loose, but my ribcage is freakishly small anyway, and it works in a sports bra.
-
I doubt mine overestimates, its estimates tend to be on the low side compared with MFP / other published burns for particular activities, so I trust it!
-
No benefits imo, I love my cheap one!

Thanks duqtape! My bell will be arriving on Monday, can't wait to bust some moves :)

bumpetybump :)

Having seen this, I went straight to Amazon and bought the book! I already lift, but more information is always good, right? :) Thanks for the motivation.

It really depends on how hard you push yourself and how hard you work. I'm 5'10 / 154 lbs and used to lift really heavy weights in body pump. I burned between 300 and 450 cals according to my heart rate monitor. That's quite low for the hard work, but remember you're building muscle which will help boost your metabolism…

definitely bump for later! *runs out to buy ingredients*...

I first started to run in the hills, and I'd just take it really slowly and walk the downhill parts - those are particularly treacherous for your knees. The uphill bits should be okay, as you get less impact on your knee.
-
This! Lift heavy weights, do whole-body exercises like: squats, deadlifts, push-ups, pull-ups / chin-ups and watch those hips melt! Also eat clean, clean, clean. This helped me anyway! It does take a while though - my upper body has been lean for ages now, and my lower body has been a bit slower to catch up.

hm, that is hard. When I go to stay with my folks I usually take some protein shake with me to have when I'm hungry for a snack, as that helps me stay away from their very well-stocked chocolate-and-crisps-cupboard. But I imagine you're very young (seeing as you're going to proms!), so your metabolism will be roaring, so…

Welcome! I also love the phone app. So addictive! I never add water, though. I drink lots of it but just can't be bothered to have yet another thing to keep track of!

Those are really healthy snacks: good fats, protein, some fibre. Just make sure you buy the all-natural PB with no added sugar and salt, and weigh the amount of PB you use. It's a great snack, and actually recommended by many diet plans!

I used to get this. Turns out my trainers were too tight! Maybe try tying the laces in different ways. Sounds dumb, but makes a big difference.
-
You might be fitter than you think! Or your chest strap could be a bit loose / sensor too dry and it could be a measurement error.
-
Lift weights in a whole-body, high-intensity circuit fashion that gets your heart rate racing too!

Hi StatHaldol! Not sure I'm a "nutrition buff" but I do like to think about food and nutrition. Here is my critique: Good: - Low saturated fat - You're clearly trying to get the protein in - You're eating vegetables - I didn't see any junk when I skimmed through your diary - Mmm tasty! hehe Suggestions: - I think you need…

Just bumpin'!

This!!! When I go dress-shopping, I am always quite paranoid about looking like a bloke in a dress. I have some Dutch genes (a tall country!) so compared to other people in the UK, my 5.10-5.11 height really does stand out. Moreover, I enjoy strength training and I like my muscles, but I have naturally broad shoulders.…

Hi Krystina, Just wondering how you were getting on with this problem - have you managed to squeeze some exercise into your day? Hope you're feeling less stressed! Snakes

Darn, I had some quark and forgot about this plan, ended up using it all instead of sour cream in my chicken fajitas... did you ever come up with a recipe for strawberry powder?

Razique, what is an intermittent fasting plan? Snakes
