I let myself go until I was diagnosed with degenerative joint disease. The pain in my hip was so excruciating that it motivated me to lose the excess baggage. I'm doing this totally for me, and to ward off any unnecessary strain on my joints

Way to go! Congratulations!

Four people commented on my weight loss last night at work. Two of them even said I look so skinny. I've lost 50 pounds so far, but believe me, I'm not skinny. It sure was nice to hear, though!

That's great! I wish I could do jumping jacks! I've got arthritis and a neuromuscular disease which prevents me from being active. Keep it up and before long you'll be doing so much more!

Excellent dedication and amazing transformation! You look absolutely adorable in those glasses, too! Looking forward to seeing more photos as you continue on your journey.

Congratulations!!! What an awesome accomplishment! Anyone with your kind of drive and empathy would make an excellent trainer. Don't let anybody dull your sparkle.

I used to be 5'6" but am now 2" shorter because of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease; which causes scoliosis. I also have been dealing with osteoarthritis. I started in July, at 204 pounds, and am now 156. Other than swimming this past summer, I haven't done any exercising because the arthritis was so bad. I've just been…

I was in a meeting with upper management and all 3 of the ladies began complimenting me on my weight loss. I'm on my 2nd plateau after losing 39 pounds, and have been a little bummed about it. Their comments were just what I needed to hear to keep me pushing toward my last 35.

WTG, you look great! I started at 204 and am currently 165. Now if I can only lose 35 more pounds, I'll be a very happy camper! Are you at your target weight now? Thanks for sharing your success...Stories like yours keep me heading in the right direction.

I absolutely love sprouts in my salads and on my sandwiches. I thought about starting some myself, but never tried it as I heard it was easy to get salmonella. Maybe I should just quit being such a chicken and try it.

The day it's too late to start is the day you stop breathing. Thank you for proving that success comes at any age if you put in the effort! Congratulations...You look fantastic!!!!

I'm on my 2nd time around, too. The only failure is in quitting. As they say, the older you get, the more difficult it becomes to shed unwanted pounds. I used to be one of those all or nothing types also. I realized how unrealistic that is. Changing your lifestyle doesn't mean you have to give up everything you love...that…

So glad you posted this, Sandra! I just bought a butternut and am anxious to cook it!

I started this journey 133 days ago, in a snug size 18 (heading toward a 20). I am now comfortably wearing a size 14. I'm also wearing my wedding rings again, which I haven't had on since 2003.

This sounds really good except I don't like balsamic vinegar. I wonder if could substitute it with fat free raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing?

You're welcome, Summerluno; I'm so glad you liked it!

Thank you for sharing your painful and triumphant story! You're a shining example to all who've had to overcome childhood tragedy from a dysfunctional home life. I'm so glad you are coming full circle and learning to love yourself! I bet your son is so very proud of you...you look fantastic!!!

Thanks, Julia! I haven't tried the cheesy potatoes yet, but I'm planning on it.
