Would like to be in as well if I still can - added my name

Back to logging - tried to start on Jan 1 so I could go for the 365 consecutive days! Got a membership last month to the Y so have been going there as often as I can (gotta love 2 hours of free daycare!!) - I find the ONLY way to success is by meticulously logging with a food scale. I definitely have not perfected the…

The first problem is affirming "I am so not a morning person". Time to become one, think of the desired goal, and let that kick your a** out of bed. If being in shape and exercising was easy, everyone would do it. Its supposed to be hard. Makes you appreciate the reward more. Start telling yourself "I am going to get up…

Don't ask... Two different families and two different Canadian thanksgiving dinners. Im... up for sure lol - back at er now!

I think you will notice a huge difference when you get into weighing etc with the scale. Definitely makes things more specific. I find if I am not using the food scale and just eye balling... I stall or the weight goes up! Makes a big diff :) Also, what others have mentioned above is spot on. Sodium can definitely make you…

yeah food scale seems to be the best way.... I find I don't lose when I eyeball things even though I think im being good... I love ribs

Congrats on the 13 lb loss!!! I wouldn't stress about something that hasn't happened yet. You plateaued then, this is now! Put forth your positive energy into thinking of losing the 30 lbs! If you focus on the fact that you are going to plateau then you probably will. Get excited about the 30 you are going to lose! You can…

I had an "incident" over easter involving me and a large bag of "easter M&Ms". Wasn't pretty but hell, I enjoyed them and got back on the wagon the next day. I will keep an eye on this thread for help and support... You definitely have my understanding though!

Pickles for me! 5 cal per.

OMG you will lose calories LAUGHING at the reviews on these things. Do yourself a favour and read them. Its worth it!

I find I am looking at food differently. I like knowing that if I am going to have something "bad" its going to be the absolute best I can get. That I DO appreciate!

Today is : Leftover shrimp Quinoa Broccoli 30g cheese Chicken Nibbler thing 40g Almonds Banana Apple Fibre 1 bar I think that was it... usually mix in some other veg if they are kicking around - cucumber / carrots / raw broc etc

Almost 22 lbs down since beginning of Feb!

I agree with the above - life IS too short. enjoy yourself. Do you really want to stress about logging etc when you are away? Of course not! Enjoy yourself and get back to business when you return. This is a life long process and during that process you will want to enjoy yourself (or at least I would)

Hi! I have had success (20+ lbs lost) on the TDEE - 20% method talked about at length on these forums. I would definitely do that instead of the preset numbers on MFP. The posts will walk you through how to set that up. I found things were getting too confusing when I was adding in my exercise into my diary. The TDEE…

Purchase a food scale and log religiously. Search out the TDEE method and eat at a deficit. That will get the ball rolling.. exercise is great for fitness... nutrition and portions for weight loss..
-
And this helpful and caring poster has done the work for you and posted the links. This is your guide to success. That's it (thanks diannethegeek)

amazing how people come on this board and DEMAND help when there are so many topics devoted to the process. Food scale, logging, too little calories. Why not try searching instead of demanding? Please.

Change up the main but usually keep my snacks and side dishes the same: cheese string hard boiled egg almonds apple/pear/grapefruit cucumber/celery the main is either some leftovers (when I cook dinner I always make one or two dishes extra for lunches) or some soup. I also have microwave access so that helps.. but I try to…

Every morning. Keep a calendar over the scale and track weight. I like to see what foods effect me in what ways. I can almost get an immediate response to what I ate the day before. That being said, I don't get down if the number goes up. If you are the kind of person who will get discouraged over seeing a .2 increase,…

lol keep logging/tracking and enjoy the ride! Its not really "hard" to lose weight once you start eating at a deficit! Its just that initial confusion to get the numbers right! Enjoy it!

I am literally sitting in my office salivating. Thanks guys for all of the recipes and tips! P

1 meeeeeelion dollars! Seriously though, lots of great answers already in this thread. Good luck!

ditto. I am just going to hit goodwill/thrift stores and pick up some interim clothes while weight loss is occurring. Once I am closer to the goal I will go and buy some clothes at the store (although you can find amazing stuff at thrift stores)

Honestly, if i were you, I would research (on these forums) the TDEE - (minus) method. Personally, I don't log exercise on MFP as half the time it is not accurate anyways and just confuses things. To each their own though...
-
You can absolutely do this! Just remember, it is NOT easy and you will not notice huge changes overnight. You cannot expect to lose "30 lbs in 2 months" or any other crazy claim, nor should you want to. Think of this journey as building a new relationship with food. Enjoy every step, delight in your upcoming physical…

most definitely.

lighter... and colder! don't have all the insulation anymore... brrrr

Im leaning this way too. One (or two) days will NOT mess up your journey. Just get back on the horse and keep going. That's what I like about this lifestyle change (notice I didn't say diet?). I don't have to beat myself up if I eat something I am really craving. I just do it (in moderation) and continue on. I am finding…
