1 of 12 runs for the month. It was short, slow, and ugly, but I'm glad to be back at it. It can only get better. :)

Would love to join for April! Just getting back at it again after a LONG break -- starting from scratch! I don't really have a mileage goal, but really need to work on being more consistent - aiming for 3 runs a week (no matter how short they may be)!

Amee, I am just getting started with the C25k. I haven't felt like it's quite challenging enough, although in the interest of injury-prevention, that might be okay. I may have to check out the one you are using. In 2010, a small group of us made it a goal to run 10 5k races. When it was all said and done, we actually did…

Only did some stretching this morning (30 min DVD), but was out of bed at 5 to get it done. Baby steps, right?

That's an impressive day! Way to go!

I am a 41-year old wife and the mother of two - a 16 year old boy and a 7 year old girl. I work as a SLP for a small school district, and am working hard to be sure that my kiddos finish strong in these last few weeks. I ran my second half marathon in May 2014 and a 5k on July 4th. Sadly, that is the last time I've done…

I ran this evening as well. First time in a long while! (I've been very good at finding excuses lately.) The way I'm feeling right now, a little light stretching or yoga may be all I'll be able to pull off tomorrow morning! My goal is to be up and in motion by 5:00.

Of course! I see that there is a half/full marathon on PEI in October! I bet raspberry cordial would be the perfect post-race refreshment!

Good morning! We are SO very similar ~ I would love to team up with you for some accountability and support! "Kindred Spirits" must be a reference to Anne Shirley, right?

Hello! I'm excited to be one of the cool kids (there's a first time for everything, right?) I've been browsing the posts in this topic and am already loving this group - everyone is so positive and supportive and realistic! I just turned 40 on Friday! I checked off one item on my bucket list by completing my first…

In for round #2!!!

Love this! ALL of it! Bumping now so I can look through them again tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that....

Unbelievable! Some of those prices are astounding! We are very fortunate to have a sweet little lady in town who has done daycare in her home for 25+ years. Both of my children were in her care from the time they were infants until they were old enough to go to school. She charged $2.00/hr per child, and would take…

I could use some Nike+ friends as well -- perhaps having a little 'competition' will get me out of this funk I've been in for the last couple of weeks! Please add me if you'd like; shorthand73

Congratulations! Good for you - and keep up the good work. You will be amazed at what you are capable of!!! You are stronger than you know and will continue to find all sorts of reasons to be proud of yourself!! :flowerforyou:

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at age 3. The only time it has ever been an issue is when some Dr. decided to mess around with my meds -- and that affected EVERYTHING (hair, skin, sleep, concentration, etc.) - not just weight loss! My only suggestion/tip would be to find a great doctor that will monitor your levels…

Very helpful! Thanks for posting!

Here is a resource that you may find helpful; http://www.asha.org/public/speech/swallowing/Swallowing-Disorders-in-Adults/

Sounds like dysphagia - quite uncomfortable to be sure!! Obviously, it's best to speak with your doctor, but ask him about having a swallow study done. The procedure would likely be performed by a Speech-Language Pathologist - and they'd be able to see exactly what's happening. Dysphagia is something that can be treated…

Just signed up for my first 1/2 in Fargo, ND in May. Anyone else from the midwest that will be running there as well??

Wow! Thanks, everyone, for all the encouragement and support! I've never received so many positive responses! :flowerforyou: In 2010, I ran a total of 13 5k races with a couple of friends, so I know I can do that far for sure. 5k seemed pretty do-able. A half feels a little daunting, but I think I'll give it a try!…

I'm starting today too! I've never been very consistent... hoping to actually get into level 2 this time!
-
Just starting. Trying to hit 8000. 8787 yesterday. Happy Monday! :flowerforyou:

Wow. I recently got a BMF - I was floored by how little I actually move! I'm shooting for a measly 8000 steps each day for the remainder of the month. Gotta start somewhere, right?

I'm a big fan of Dave Ramsey. I've never thought about applying his principles to health/weight loss, but I can definitely see how that would work! Thanks for the insight! :)
-
I sure did! 4.5 days of absolutely ridiculous choices! My countertop and fridge are FULL of every kind of tasty I can think of and I've been grazing non-stop! Can't even begin to imagine how many calories... Ugh.
