It is not just a British thing (reluctance to swap out foods), it is a European thing. But lately most places I have been to are used to the exclusion of the bad carbs in favor of the good carbs - if you ask up front if it is possible then you are not going to be embarrassed (call ahead). Enjoy!

I must say that when I want to feel good, I convert to LBS! :-) Made it to 30 lbs lost recently, and that just sounds so dull in kilos (about 14), but in pounds it is an awesome feeling! :-) Christy

Generally yes, at the start (the day of and day before I start) I retain water no matter how much I drink and weight about 4 or 5 lbs more than my weekly average, but by day 4 or 5 at the end, I am back to where I was if I keep to plan. I see this almost every month. Hope this helps! Christy
