was this really necessary to post...just ignore the stuff you find repetitive instead of being hard on new members.
  • I knew you would get flamed for this xD

You have to put /endrant and :flowerforyou: to make it more acceptable xD

    Yes, yes it was.

Heed your own advice and ignore this post if you don't like it, instead of being hard on members who are sick of seeing topics over and over.

This is one of the more obnoxious posts I've seen on here in a while. Has it ever crossed your mind that if someone wants to ask a question that they want answers to their question, not a similar one by someone else? Has it crossed your mind that maybe different people will read the question and give a different perspective? Has it crossed your mind that people many people find responses like "It's called the search button" every bit as annoying as you find seeing the same question posted more than once.

Oh, and has it ever crossed your mind that if you see a topic that you don't want to read then not to click on it? It's a simple concept. I do it all the time.

New people join MFP daily and this sort of attitude does nothing but make them feel unwelcome by a few nameless, faceless individuals who think they are some sort of elite group on a message board.

Clearly you haven't been on in awhile. :flowerforyou:

Some questions, sure - recipes, ideas, I get that. But how many different ways can we answer "do you weigh yourself during TOM?" or "Should I eat my exercise calories?" If people are that offended over this post, then they are looking to be offended.
  • Has it crossed your mind that no one cares if you throw a fit?
OP made a strong statement. Yes. And many agree.

Not sure how many different perspectives/questions people can have about their TOM everyday.

If you find it so annoying then follow what dad106 said. You didn't have to read the post and you didnt have to respond. It is just the internet o.O

Hey man, if it doesn't show up in search forty thousand times, then please by all means post the topic. There are just certain topics that seem to have thread after thread posted about them. Maybe it's because I'm German, but I just find it inefficient.

I responded to you! That isn't a daily topic that can be googled or searched i think. No harm there :flowerforyou:

    ^^ yes BUT this...

no matter how annoyed you are that people repost the same topics over and over again...being passive aggressive about it really lacks tact, class and maturity.

and i agree with the other poster in that the search function on this site is not very good. i have searched for things and not been able to find anything close to relevant to what i was looking for.

    lastly... :flowerforyou:

  • No! email me your exercise calories because I am hungry. That is how it works right? xD

I don't really have a problem with most common topics, I just kinda stop responding.
But get kind of annoyed when people don't utilize this wonderful tool I discovered... Google xD

for me, sometimes it is quite refreshing to see a new topic instead of having to read pages and pages of an old one on the same or similar topic. however, sometimes it does get a tad bit boring. i am on the fence here but still i see little point in complaining about this.....

"a) Do not attack, mock, or otherwise insult others. You can respectfully disagree with the message or topic, but you cannot attack the messenger. This includes attacks against the user’s spelling or command of written English, or belittling a user for posting a duplicate topic."

Not belittling "a user", just suggesting that people use the search button. Didn't call out any names, but thanks for playing!
