I just wanted to say thank you to the majority that offered support instead of judgement. I was honestly thinking about giving up, again, after some of the comments I read. But, I then read the comments from most that were understanding and told me to be kind to myself. Thank you.

Or. Was focused on spending time with her because we were afraid she was dying. Ever think of that?

Haven't blamed my mother for anything. How dare you.

Second breakfast. It's what I eat after I've ran for over an hour, have a light breakfast, and still come to work starving.
-
Well, tell them just that then. "Please do not invite me to eat anything brought in by the group, I only eat what I brought. Because, goals." See how many friends you make at work and how quickly you get alienated by doing that. Look up the word gratitude. You sound like a spoiled brat. Next year, bring in carrot sticks…

Wow. Not sure what to say other than if you were my coworker, that would be the last birthday we ever celebrated for you.

We have a lot of people who are only at the gym to work their mouths. I have to drown out their yapping. Music also helps me focus and get dialed into my workout. The Y I'm a member at also plays the worst music.

I don't. Motivation is fleeting. My self-discipline keeps me working hard. I know it may be slow, but if I keep showing up day after day and do the right things, I will see results.

I just ran a half yesterday; I retain water like crazy after big runs. All weighing will do for me is to cause me to spiral into depression. I need a few days before as I've never weighed myself right after a big run.

Thanks. I do really well with back to backs. I am just going to see how tomorrow feels. If I'm not up to run, I'll go lift or something.

Way to flip a lighthearted question. Thanks.

6/29 - 16 miles! This was hot, sticky, and gross. But, I never gave up and kept moving forward. 134.47 miles for June. That means I've met both goals. Now I'm trying to decide if I go for it, run 5.53 tomorrow and make it an even 140. What does MFP say?

It doesn't matter who was right. A car will win against a runner every day of the week. Use the sidewalk if one is available. Otherwise, run AGAINST traffic so you see what's coming.

I second this. Don't rely on the Garmin at all. Mine predicts I can run a full in 3:30.

My two most recent PR's came off of no training plan (ie: writing my own). Otherwise, I hadn't PR'd in 4 years. I followed plans religiously, and even had a coach for a while. And nothing. Not even close in the last 4 years. I'm pretty sure taking bits and pieces of different plans along with taking advice of fellow…

Because I dislike the majority of the plans I've seen out there. Because on Hal Higdon's plans, there are mid week 10 mile runs that I cannot get in due to work commitments. Because I have races this summer that interfere with a plan. Because I have other classes and exercises that I enjoy doing and I can fit them in…

Why not?

Right now, I am running 30 miles a week. I am writing my own plan; and will build up to a few weeks of 50ish miles. Yeah, I will have to throw MP at the end of my long runs once they get up there. Right now, I have no problem running 14 miles at a 10 minute mile. But 26.2 at a 10:40ish? We'll have to wait and see if that's…

Geeze, I'm running 30 or so MPW right now. I think I am going to shoot for 4:45 and see how training goes.
