10 Pounds Down!
So I hit the 10 pound loss mark this week1 I still have 15 to go, but this was the point where I felt that, hey, this is actually sort of working. I’m only 5 ft, and the first ten pounds took so much longer to lose than anticipated (seriously, since like August). And the first few pounds didn’t even seem like real weight…

Number of Fitbit calories earned is decreasing
So I recently started using my Fitbit again, and linked it to MFP. My settings here are on Sedentary, losing 1 lb a week, which gives me 1200 calories (I'm 29, 5'0", 142 lbs). So when I walk during the day, MFP adds calories to my daily allotment once I reach about 5,000 steps. I noticed, though, that the number it gives…

Did you lose weight training for a half marathon?
So, I know a lot of people say "don't train for a half marathon/marathon to lose weight." Mostly because it makes you so hungry that most people actually end up eating more and gaining weight. What do you do in the gym that's effective?
So my boxing instructor is starting his own gym, which will take a couple of months. Which means that in the meantime, I'll have to work out in my office building's gym. I'm planning to run a bit again (jump back into C25K), and try to incorporate some exercises I do with him (basically 3 minute rounds of a lot of…

Not Losing Weight
I'm really frustrated, and could use some advice. I feel like nothing I'm doing is working. So about 2.5 months ago, I started going to a gym, and have been working out a lot, and consistently (like probably harder than I ever have). I take a boxing class three times a week for 1.5 hours, plus kickboxing once a week for an…

What I Miss from 135 Pounds Ago
So I don't read a lot of weight loss blogs, but one (Can You Stay for Dinner) is a really great writer, and three of her posts really resonate with me (as I think they might with someone who's lost any amount of weight). What I Miss from 135 Pounds Ago Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 Has anyone else ever experienced these types…

Did anyone not lose weight at first?
Just wondering, I always hear stories about how people lose a lot the first week (mostly water weight), but then it slows down. But is there anyone who didn't really lose much weight the first 2-3 weeks, but then started dropping it? When could you really tell you were losing weight?
