One year of logging, weights, and practicing moderation....Long!
I have fought with an extra 20 pounds virtually my whole adult life. (I’m 36). In high school I was very active and had no need to learn how to eat a healthy diet (weight-wise). Since my 20’s I have done low-fat, low-carb, unsustainable amounts of exercise, clean-eating, vegetarianism, and calorie-counting. I have always…

Help me set goals
After struggling the last 5 months with no weight loss - I'm going to try and accept moving into recomp and focusing on strength goals. Is it reasonable to try and set a target PR/range to hit by the end of 2016? I feel like I would work harder if I knew I needed to add 5 pounds at every X interval in order to hit a goal.…

Apple watch / Health kit set-up
I use my Apple Watch to track workouts and steps. I occasionally see what appears to be a duplicate calorie adjustment syncing with HealthKit. One from iOS, one from steps. For other watch users, which data in HealthKit do you share? I have MFP set to not track steps. I have turned off step counting on my phone as well,…

60 days in - Do I need to tweak calories/exercise?
I haven't introduced myself properly here. But I've spent a lot of time the last couple months lurking/reading these threads and trying to figure out who knows what they're talking about and who doesn't! :) Anyway, I'm 60 days into working on my fat loss, have some metrics to work with, and want to get a "check-up"…

OMG back pain. Help?
I was just on a kick that I was going to load slowly so I could practice proper form and not get hurt, and I'm so smart, blah, blah, blah. Well I added in hyperextensions on one of those roman chairs and I think I have hurt myself. Are these bad for your back? I've seen conflicting info on the internets. I have a desk job.…

Progressive overload
Clearly, this is a huge factor in the SL 5x5 program. But I started thinking about it more this weekend. @Canadianlbs - you take the credit for piquing my interest with a statement on one of the check-in threads about how you weren't going to add weight. "I DO WHAT I WANT!". On the SL5x5 site, I don't recall much detail…

Favorite strength training books?
I have some work travel coming up and I'm going to need to do some hotel work outs. I was thinking of picking up You Are Your Own Gym or Convict Conditioning...or something body weight related. Anyone have any favorites that they recommend?

Barbell row form? And rest....
Just starting out here. Form on barbell row is not clicking for me. I watched the videos of that dude from SL 5x5, tried that, and it feels SO awkward. His back looks nearly parallel to the floor. Then I watched some other youtube videos where people's backs are more upright. Thoughts on what is correct or if they're all…
