Baking challenge
I love to bake and since I've started eating healthily I am taking all my baked goods into the office. Where I let my colleagues enjoy these treats, but I never partake. They've challenged me to only bring in low/no sugar- low/no fat super healthy treats next year. Makes sense!!! any websites or recipe suggestions much…

I've lost 95# this year (old and new pics)
Below is a photo of me pretty much at my peak weight. And very unhappy to be on vacation and not able to really enjoy all the activities that I wanted. Fast forward to today - nearly one year after committing to turning over a new leaf. Dropped 95# and so much healthier and stronger. The other day I hiked 3.8 miles, biked…

Yeah - Creeping up on 90# loss
This morning I weighed in with a 2.5 loss - making my total since last December 88 pounds! From 257# to 169.5# today! I had put out a goal of getting to 129#. Partly based on BMI scales but also because I wanted to be in the 120's. Now I'm rethinking that goal - I don't know where another 40 pounds would come from :) Ah…

No More excuses - bucket list
For many years my daughter has been asking me to take her hang gliding or sky diving. Well I had always used the excuse that I was over the weight limit (usually 225-250#) and couldn't go. So now, having lost 83# - she wasn't letting my fear of heights be the next excuse to keep us from taking the time to experience hang…

Dreading July 4th Weekend...
Hey MFP World - anyone else dreading the upcoming holiday weekend? I've been on a healthy lifestyle journey all year. I've lost nearly 70 pounds with another 40-60 to go. I log my food intake religiously and I'm working out 4-6 days per week. That said, I feel like I'm hitting a wall in terms of motivation and this holiday…

Down 58# in 6Months - <200! OneDerland!!!
So happy this morning to have the scale dip below the 200 mark! I was at the healthclub with my trainer and was shocked to be under 200 - as I'd weighed in just a few days ago at 202. We usually one weigh in once a week - I guess he just had a feeling that today would be the day. He gave me a hug and high-five and I then…

Ran/Walked bm first 10K!! - down 50# & 50+ to go
This past weekend I am so happy to say I completed my first 10K. It was a very emotional event for me. It solidified my commitment to turning over a new leaf and living a healthy life! I would have never been able to do that without loss of 50 pounds! Can't wait to see what I can do when I shed more weight. Pictures here.…

Lower Cholesterol - without prescription drugs
Yeah - I was so happy with news from my doctor that my cholesterol is just above 200. This may be alarming to some - but my cholesterol is generally over 300 total! So this was such good news that I was able to make a 30% reduction in my bad cholesterol through diet and exercise. I'm sure losing 40 pounds also helped. Have…

Plus-Sized model in SI swimsuit edition
While I saw this headline with anticipation - the model is a size 12. Which I guess is big for "hollywood" and admen. I dream of being that size! Have a great day #100 more to lose!

My year to be a big (fat) loser - 100# 2go
Greetings! Late last year I turned over a new leaf. This is my year to be a big loser and start a new an active life. I've been actively logging my food an exercise and already lost 24 pounds. One of the things that has really helped me is that I won a year health membership, nutritionist, and trainer from a local health…
