Exercises to Correct Posture
Howdy! I just recently had my second little one two months ago. We are overjoyed with her! However, I find that my post pregnancy posture is less than desirable and my back hurts and is pretty weak. I was wondering if there were any exercises I could do to correct this and help myself stand up straighter. I don’t like…

Body Recomp Questions
So, I’m kind of in a middle ground here. Here are my stats: Currently I’m 5’8 and 169 pounds, so technically still overweight BMI, although I checked my body fat percentage yesterday and it was 29%, which is supposedly healthy/acceptable range. Either way, I’m pretty close to maintenance. I think I want to lose maybe…

Eating disorders, PTSD, two kids, and 35 pounds
I am writing this today as a testimonial. I feel like I’ve been trying to get a grip on my weight as long as I can remember! I distinctly remember stepping on the scale in fourth grade and seeing 120 pounds. The kids at school would make fun of me and call me fat. I would try to push my fat out of my belly. I would imagine…

I’m clueless.
So, I’ve successfully lost 18 pounds, yippee! With that, I am four pounds away from my goal weight. However, I’m still not particularly thrilled about how my body looks. I’m not satisfied with weighing less if I still look like jello. I would like to tone my muscles and tighten things up. Not looking for anything crazy,…

Online/Youtube/App Workouts?
Howdy! I am three weeks postpartum with a little one, and I also have a toddler at home. I mention this because there is no way I’ll be getting back to the gym anytime soon. However, I am eager to start exercising again and get back into my routine. I was wondering if anybody could recommend workout videos to find online…

Blew it on the second day
I don’t understand myself. I am three weeks postpartum and have been eating like crap because I am too tired and drained to cook. So, last weekend I decided that was enough of that and I needed to get back on track! I actually did really well in my pregnancy and managed to lose twelve pounds, my starting weight before…

“Normal” Vegan Recipes
Okay not even trying to be ugly or condescending about this, but vegan recipes scare me. I’m not the most adventurous eater and a lot of the recipes have ingredients that I have no idea what they are/where to get them. Over the last couple months I’ve really been trying to incorporate more plant based foods into my diet…

Surprising Calorie Findings
I am just curious what blew other people’s minds when they started counting calories. Mine, for example, would be a slice of cheesecake my husband and I ordered last weekend. I mean, it was delicious, and a whopping 1500 calories for ONE SLICE. Alternatively, my home made mashed potatoes are less than 200 calories per…

Active, motivated, possibly open diary friends?
The title pretty much says it all! Looking for some peeps to chat with and motivate each other! :)

Potluck dinners?!
How do you count calories for a potluck dinner with family without looking crazy? I have reservations about whipping out the scale to measure my food in front of my in laws, and of course I wouldn’t know what was put in there anyway. Any suggestions?

Weighing Food
Do you record the pre or post cooked weight? Meat? Veggies? Help!

Small but proud
Today I decided I wanted to swap a turkey sandwich (which I don’t think is terrible, but not great either) for a big bowl of zoodles with broccoli and some spaghetti sauce. It was delish! I am proud of my extra veggies, and wanted to share. :) Does anybody else have a small but proud moment they would like to share?

Can anyone settle this for me?
Does it actually matter what time you eat? I love a snack before bed, and I save a special space in my calorie allotment for them, but I have heard these comments over and over... “You should never eat carbs after noon because your body won’t be able to burn them off” Or, “You should stop eating x hours before you go to…

Sneaky Recipes
So I have a toddler, need I say more? My journey towards a healthier lifestyle has really opened my eyes about crappy junk food, and then I realize... that’s all I’m giving my kiddo, because that’s all he will eat. My parents did the same for me, and that’s why I’ve had so many problems with food in my adult life. I don’t…

What are your favorite food swaps?
So last night I discovered zucchini noodles! I am so excited because they were so delish, I actually think I prefer them?! I never imagined vegetable noodles could compete because yanno, what’s better than pasta? I am now inspired and wondering what ya’lls favorite food swaps are? Also, if anybody had ideas for something…

Emotional Roadblocks
I don’t know how to get past this. This process has already been almost four years in the making. My heaviest was 205, and now I’m about 187. So, don’t get me wrong, there has been a little turnaround. I’m slowly (really slowly, obviously) learning how to eat better food, cook, exercise, treat my body better, and just…

Any vegans out there?
I have been thinking about/wanting to become a vegan for a long time, but when I think about all the foods I love that I would have to eliminate, it seems overwhelming. I would like to hear from any beginner/professional (lol) vegans about your journey and how you began. Any advice would be appreciated. Oh, and recipes…

Food Abuse
This problem of mine is years in the making, and I am tired of losing. I have never done this before, but I am at the end of my rope and I want to reach out for advice. I am someone who suffers from anxiety/depression, and I have been this way most of my life. I can specifically recall, at ten years old, mindlessly eating…

Sugar Intake
So, every morning I make a fruit smoothie with strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. I feel good about eating fruit instead of a processed sugary breakfast. However, I am started to get discouraged because my smoothie blows the cap off my sugar limit for the day. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it something I need…

Fitbit?
I am considering buying a Fitbit, but I would like to consider opinions/reviews from people who have already used it. So, what do y'all think? Helpful, or not?

Initial Withdrawal/Cravings
Every time I try to eat better, I go through wicked withdrawals. Headaches, irritability, fatigue and I feel like I'm starving all the time. I know it ends eventually, but I'm having a hard time powering through the initial bit. I was hoping someone would have some insight or advice on how to curb some of this, because I'm…

Baby weight
I am back after having my first child. I actually lost weight while I was pregnant because I was trying extra hard to eat clean and be in shape for my baby and to make my delivery easier. However, after my son was born I found myself SO tired and constantly reaching for sugary snacks to help me stay awake. My son is 4…

Drop in blood pressure
I am on day ten of my new diet. The first eight days, I felt wonderful! Yesterday, though, I began feeling very tired and irritable, I had headaches and felt light headed. Today I felt the same way, so I had my blood pressure checked at work. My normal range is 118/72, but today it was 112/52, owch. I am eating 1850…

Sleep and the work week
I know most people have more trouble staying on track on the weekends, but I have the opposite problem. During the work week I am so damn tired, and when I get home all I want to do is eat. I prep meals for the week (tonight was salsa chicken, yum) so that helps a little, but my body craves chocolate and yucky carby…

My first nsv :)
Today marks one week in my weight loss (wellness) journey! I am sitting here with my bowl of oatmeal, green tea and my bible, and I am feeling very grateful for the two pounds I have lost! Have a wonderful day ya'll!!!

Having trouble eating.
MFP allots me 1,800 calories for the day. After exercising, of course, it allows for a little more. Anywhere from 2000-2200 calories. I am finding, though, that I am having trouble eating all of my calories for the day! I am usually 500 calories under. Is this a bad thing? I am not starving myself! I eat all day! Lol, any…

So of course, I hate exercise, but
I realize that, of course, exercise is important. I have much respect for people who have the discipline and time management skills to stick to an exercise regimen. I, however, am terrible about this. I always fall off the docket when it comes to exercising, and I am wondering what I can do to make exercise more fun so I…

Last year, I went to the doctor for chest pains. I was only nineteen at the time. At the doctor's office, they took my weight and I was 205 lbs, which is about 40 lbs overweight for my height. I was mortified. Besides my chest pains, (which thankfully, was accredited to chest inflamation and not a heart problem) my doctor…
