Intermittent Fasting / time-restricted eating
When I was at my doctors appointment, we were talking about weight loss and the subject of intermittent fasting came up. Now I had heard of fasting of course, but over the years, I had been advised, smaller more frequent meals was the better approach. I want home and started researching the topic. Now, before I describe my…

Progress Update with charts and pictures
Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well. I have been working toward losing 164 lbs. At 54 weeks I am over halfway there. As of this morning, I am down 90.7 lbs. I am a number cruncher, so I chart and log everything. Below is my average weight loss across different time periods. I gained a little weight over the holidays -…

I am 6' 2" tall. I have struggled with my weight for most of my adult life. Back in 2006, I had lost 340 lbs. from 562.3 down to 219.…

25 weeks - 55.4 lbs
I guess it is true what they say - it is a bit harder to lose weight as you get older. Well, if not harder, slower for sure. I am 63 years old, 6'2" tall. I am eating a healthy diet of 1800 calories per day. I am exercising, 2 mile walk at an 18.5 / minute per mile pace. I also try to swim 2 or 3 times per week. I…

Success of the nerds - Proof positive I am a geek. ;) 57.7 down only 162.7 to go.
I am at 4 months of losing weight. About 16 years ago I lost over 350 lbs and kept it off for about 10 years. 562.3 -> 207. After about 10 years I lost focus and put back on 200 of those hard lost pounds. Anyway, I thought I would post my daily weight chart - I love numbers, charts and statistics. I wish everyone the very…

13 Weeks in - 46.2 lbs lost
As a computer guy - I love tracking things. The scale can be fickle. You can eat and exercise according to plan, but not have it show up on the scale. Salt intake, water retention and many other factors can lead to the scale driving you crazy. Well at least it drives me crazy sometimes. ;) I use my average weight loss over…

Spreadsheet
I know I have a lot of weight to lose, but boy I am all over the map. In my actual calorie count, I add 15% to my log here just to cover any logging errors. It has been a great 6 weeks. I have lost 7.54% of my body weight in 6 weeks. Just need to keep going in the right direction.

13 years ago today - after a lifetime of obesity - I reached my goal weight. 562.3 down to 217 at 6' 2 tall at at the time I was 47. I kept the weight off for over 7 years. Here I am at 60 today - after many false starts, I am back doing the things I need to do to get fit again. I started this October the 10th and I have…

Successful Start - Again 😊 1 month in down 21.8 lbs
Today is 1 month on my quest to lose 1/2 my size. Back in 2004 after a lifetime of being overweight and failing to get fit - I finally got motivated and lost 355 lbs. I went from 562.3 down to 207 at 6’2” tall. I kept it off for 7 years then started to slowly go back to my poor lifestyle choices. Stoped exercising, started…

Visualization fun
I am currently 160 + down from my highest weight (562.3) after having gained back from my goal weight after keeping it off for 7 years. I am back at it and I have lost 14 lbs. I used to always think of weight loss in lots of 25. We owned a snoball stand and I used to have to haul 25 lbs bags of sugar. A lot of them.…

Back at it - this time at 60 years old and 210 lbs to lose.
About 15 years ago, when I was in my mid 40's I was up to 562.3 lbs. I knew I was going to die if I did not do something about my health. A single Dad at the time, with a 7 year old, I just could not let that happen. Over 2 1/2 years I managed to lose 355 pounds. I kept it off for about 7 years never going over 225. After…

17 Weeks into getting to 1/2 my size Starting weight 405.5 --> 328.8
I am a numbers guy - so I like to look at trends. I am 57 years old and 6' 2" tall. While I weigh everyday, I really focus on my 4 and 6 week average number. That helps to smooth out things like fluid retention etc. My highest weight ever was 562.3 back in April of 2004. Over 2 years I lost 360 lbs. I managed to keep the…

Off to a good start - 55 lbs lost 145 lbs to go
We used to have big dogs. We bought those 50 lbs bags of dog food. Well, that is one of those I don't have to carry around 24 hours a day. I wish everyone the very best! Charles

Lies, damn lies and the FDA
This was something I learned the hard way back in the day. Now granted, this is really on the margins of weight loss - but I think it illustrates how calories can slip in without us being aware. Now, I know artificial sweeteners are not everyone's thing. However, if you use them, it sure looks good when you look at the…

Tracking by the numbers. 38 lbs lost so far.
So as not to alarm anyone with these numbers, I am on a medically supervised weight loss program. After a lifetime of obesity, 12 years ago, I got serious and went to work on this problem. I lost over 340 lbs and kept it off for about 7 years. 562.3 - 217. I am 6'2" tall and it took 138 weeks. The first 13 weeks was on a…

47.5 Down, 154.5 left to lose.
Before anyone gets alarmed, I am on a medically supervised weight loss program. The first 13 weeks is a VLCD diet - high protein to be muscle sparing. I am in week 7 of that part, then I transition over to a more normal calorie counting diet. I like to do stats & charts - and thought this might be of interest. The first…

Hello - Working to be 1/2 my size again 12 years later.
From the time I was 7 or 8 years old, I had a problem with my weight. I ate too much and exercised too little. Ok, make that exercised not at all. I tried every diet on and off for 30 years or so. I would lose 70 or 80 pounds, gain it back, lose 100 pounds, gain it back, but I never got to a “normal” weight. Back in 2004,…

Know what the only thing worse than breaking my promise to get back on track 1,460 days in a row?
Breaking in 1,461 days in a row. I don't know what mental switch flips in my head that makes what once seemed impossible - possible, but I am grateful that I found it again. I started back to fitness October 28th of this year. I kid you not, every single morning for those 1,460 days - I woke up and thought - man this is…

Headed back to fitness
I have been here for a little over a month now. About 12 years ago, I lost over 350 lbs and kept it off for about 6 years. I let life get in my way and lost my focus. I ended up gaining back 200 of those damn hard lost 350. I put my ego and shame aside and went back to the medical weight loss program that helped me 12…
